It got better

Judging from the score and the first minute, I wasn't expecting that much. I guess I'm just so used to listening to songs that has scores of well over 4.30. This actually turned out to be a lot better than I thought. It isn't until around 1:21 that it really gets good. It's mostly because this is the time where the music starts to get creepier. It mostly struck me as weird before, but this was when it got into real emotion.

It could probably use more variety at first, but it's well worth the wait. I like how it just seems to be going all over the place with this music. You can get a sense of random things going on and just being shot out everywhere. It's simply a cool feeling. It could probably use some more variety after it reaches the good part, because it goes on a bit too long.

Quarl responds:

I completely agree with you/everyone else who has commented on the repetition but my lazy production habits make me the kind of guy who refuses to open up old project files to make them better :/

What a juggernaut!

I guess I've just been on the Internet too long to not think of X-Men while listening to this. This was a downright fantastic song and it had a simply fantastic amount of appeal to it. It was just completely relentless in how utterly awesome it was, and never let down for a second. It even goes through different tones. It's just fantastic to hear such high paced action that really sets you in the mood. This tells a story as good as any flash submission.

Like how it builds itself down sooo much and then it builds itself up sooo much and then it completely explodes in ridiculousness. It seems like you got some good inspiration. This is truly a juggernaut (a being of pure power) as it is unstoppable! It's stylistic, full of insanity and just wonderful to listen to. This shows how talented anyone on the Internet can become. I wasn't expecting that shotgun blast, which was awesome too.

KroweMusic responds:

Thank you for the absolutely lovely complements! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Flawless!

Dude, this is one of my favorite art pieces I've ever seen! I think its strongest point is that it takes its time starting off to becoming more insane. It grows in ridiculousness as it goes on. When I first heard the name "Requiem" I was thinking of the movie "Requiem For A Dream" which was known for its awesome fast paced music. This certainly fit the bill and I love how it changes right before the end. I was expecting sort of a joke to follow, but it simply continued being awesome.

It's songs like this that make you appreciate the existance of instruments like violins. Its tone appears to be one of madness or simply disorder. It has somewhat of a mechanical tone to it as well. The mechanical tone can also shift to become one of technology leading to computers. There is simply a great story to tell here, even though there are no words. It truly gives off the sense that you went on a great journey yourself to make this.

broove responds:

I'm really glad you liked it. Thank you for dropping a review.

How weird

This was rather odd, but not odd in the notion that I'm used to describing things as being odd. I really had no idea what this had to do with Transformers. It is probably the first time I have ever heard this series being used in a graceful way. I can kind of think of a peaceful Cybertron when listening to this. It's extremely strange, but it actually works. It could have used a bit more variety, but still worth listening to.

What's also sweet is how you keep this peaceful tone so consistently. It's just harmony all around. In a world of cynics, I was expecting some major action or some other great change but it never happened. You are truly a credit to all people who enjoy peaceful music. It's always interesting to hear different takes on a series.

Sheodon responds:

Thank you for your comment. I'm glad I was able to show you a totally new, revamped perspective of the well-known Cybertron. I usually like to say that Cybertron was never just a destroyed world. Originally, it was an utopia where all the transformers could leave in peace, and they had everything they could. Just the idea of capitalism and sins of the Senate made the world into an economical crisis (similar story?), and then the war of 2 fractions totally destroyed the planet. A real story with a deep story-telling and a lots of morality.

That's what the rising prime should be: a bit nostalgic feeling, which makes you remember for the time when the transformers could live in peace with no war. That's what the Primes want to do: to live as they lived before. Even if I'm not really satisfied with the song itself (or, at least, I would make changes in it), I'm glad you liked it.

Wicked!

It was great how you created such a nice song with this consistent style. I think the best part is probably how well you keep up the beat. At the same time, it does feel like it could have more variety. I still have to give you credit for creating a very fun song that has a ton of heart to it. I think it might work best at the beginning where there's more stuff going on and you get a better sense of anticipation. It's still good through the entire song.

I really didn 't see much of a theme of gangsta rap. Some parts of it sounded like it, but overall, it didn't seem to fit into a category that I had heard of before. It seemed like a very innovative creation. I don't think this was intended to be made for the movie "Saw" as the title might suggest. Then again, it does have kind of a thriller theme to it.

KidCrisis responds:

You know this is actually the saw theme song right....?

Pretty cool song

I liked listening to this because it had a really good style to it. I have played the game and I think I actually enjoyed this more than I did the actual game! It's probably because it's just so different than a standard Madness game. It's great to hear how you were able to build tension in the game. The best part is probably how you consistently keep it up. It sounds similar to other Madness music, but is still unique.

Apart from having a tone of danger, it also has a tone of adventure. I guess the two fit together well in the Madness world. I really have no idea what the title has to do with anything. I can only imagine what kind of instruments went into this, or if it was just made on a flash program. Either way, it's chock full of action!

EoD696 responds:

I made it in FL Studio using lots of image-line plugins and some other free stuff.

The title is just randomnimity. What I imagined when I wrote this was an old madness video from a few years back where a doctor goes insane and just starts chopping people up and shooting people and...well...its madness. Maybe thats how the whole deal got started? I dunno, anyhow, at some point doc had a baseball bat with spikes and was bashing people's heads in and shit. I thought that was wicked, so I threw it in for the title *shrug*

Glad you dig the tune man, thanks for listening :)

I can't break it

Wow, I have never seen any submission where every review had a 10 out of 10! I simply can not break this tradition! What makes this piece work so well is that it has a great sense of style and happiness to it. There isn't any attempt to be vulgar, or anything like that at all! Not that I have a problem with vulgarity, this is just a fantastic and unique song! I think the best thing about it is probably how well it all fits together.

That kind of makes me hungry for cream cheese sandwiches. I love those things on bagels. I also love how you use such a soft voice for this submission. This isn't much of an attempt to be hardcore or anything, just a cool voice. I have no idea how this managed to get into an entry called "Lab Of The Dead".

Evil-Dog responds:

Maybe you're unaware of the backstory of the song. Tom Fulp, the creator of newgrounds sang this song acapella in a movie called Africa Dudes. I found it very funny and made a punk remix of the song. I also made Lab of the Dead and decide to put it in my game along with "Tetris On The Toilet" :D

I'm also surprised about the 10/10 review, there's a couple 9/10 I think but the average is still 10/10 which is amazing haha

How'd you do this?!

This is one of the most epic pieces of music I've ever heard on this entire website! What's really sweet is how you consistently keep up your beat. It might not be the longest one I have ever heard, that would probably be one of Kirbopher's remixes. It's great to listen to this becaue it gives you a true feeling of being in a great battle. It's a song so long you even had to divide it up into seperate parts! I am somewhat familiar with what you are talking about in the description.

It helps that I'm a Marvel fan. I don't seem to remember hearing the whole thing in the "Wrath Of God" submission that I played, probably because I didn't beat the game. You're a true tribute to people who work for a long time on audio submissions. I always strive to hear lengthy songs that keep your attention the whole way through. It shows that no time was wasted. Will you make the story into a flash?

OrphenFire responds:

Thank you so much (: I did spend several hours on this. But I don't know how to do flash. If a very good flash artist/animator wants to team up with me, I would be thrilled to create an animated version of the Annihilation story. It's one of the greatest graphic novels ever written, hence the reason I was so inspired to create this music.

What an odd name

It sounds like the name of some long forgotten Russian scientist. This is great to listen to, because it gives off a real sense of adventure. I can tell the fact that it was used for something called "Pico Jones". That makes me think of him being in an Indiana Jones scenario. But enough of that flash, this is great in itself. The coolest thing is probably how it really gives you the sense of being in an adventure. It gets more fast paced as it goes along.

It consistently keeps up a strong tone to it. It's great to hear a consistent portrayal of adventure when you don't know where it's going. I hope you continue to make interesting things like this. I love at around 2:20 when it becomes more surreal and changes tone. Variety is always a good idea to have in a song.

RealPublic responds:

That's an awesome review!

Please, review more of my songs :D

Very ambitious

This submission really works because it has such a high spirit to it. It's great to provide a description of the history behind this. There were just so many themes going on that it was hard to tell what the main theme was. At first it appeared to be one of action, but later it seemed to be one of mystery. Perhaps not so much mystery after that, but a combination of both elements, including danger. I like how it even ends on a different note, with a more soft tune.

There is no way that this is half-assed work man! While it could have moved a little more fluidly, it is definitley worth checking out! It's great to see how well it builds up with so much ambition. It kind of seems like people are going on a journey at one point, but more like in an MMORPG. This would make good background music for something like that.

blackattackbitch responds:

Can't believe someone flagged this as useless, thanks dude.

You hit on one of my biggest problems when it comes to composing, that being my almost complete inability to stick with just one theme and emotion throughout the piece.

Thanks for the review, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I am one of the most prolific reviewers on this website and even on the Internet! I am proud to be such a huge fan of this website!
