Aww, you got a Daily 2nd Place! That ought to count for something. It was great to learn about Oney. Yep, I'm a fan of him as well as you. It's weird to see something start on account here after YouTube started. Seems like this website was the closest thing we had before YouTube.

You know, with people submitting stuff, albeit not live-action videos. I love that OneySephiroth drawing. It was great to look back at these cartoons. "Telefrancais Collab" was my favorite. I had no idea that was even a real show!

Bobert-Rob responds:

Yeah, it was a bizarre collab to even do at all. But of course it'd be me to spearhead something so random, especially back then.

Youtube's birth and rise to fame took a lot of us by surprise, considering all those other startup video sites that claimed the same things Youtube was. But then Hollywood backed it, and then Google bought em'. It was kind of cemented at that point. Newgrounds may not enjoy as much of the spotlight as it did in those days, but there's still a thriving art community here. They just can't ignore Youtube like they used to.

Also, thanks! And a front page to boot. Of course, I blame the topic more than anything else. Still, I've been wanting to do Storytime style videos for awhile, and I think this was a fun topic to cover. I wish there was more to tell, but it was such a short window. If it wasn't for the animations and messages, I'd question if it ever happened at all.

Wow, I wasn't expecting something this great! Everything was just so beautiful. It seemed like a 2D girl on a 3D screen. It didn't go too over the top. Well, it did literally go over the top. What a wonderful dedication!

She just looked so small. You truly deserve your Daily Feature. You know how to create atmosphere. It definitely seems like software from something called Blender. These seem like blended animation styles.

aggimajera responds:

You'd probably be interested to know, this project was actually scraped together when the original idea morphed into something I didn't like. I had to start mostly all over, and I think it got pulled together alright. I'm really grateful you liked it :D

I can wait until 2024. It's so weird how the Spongebob one came right away. I don't even like this movie that much. I know I'll still love this collab! I have seen many of the parts already. Dorito's are awesome.

My favorite part might have been 0:40. Pidgy, you're awesome! You guys are all awesome of course! I only saw the movie once as a kid. Yes, it would have been better if there was an "Emperor's New Groove" collab.

WesMakowski responds:

two references to the Emperor's New Groove in the El Dorado Redialed so that's as close as we'll get to make a collab version of that film. Try re-watching El Dorado, you notice a lot more when you're older...

This was awesome! I can't believe it only got 5th place! I know nothing about Vergil. I at least know about "Devil May Cry". It's great to see this spectacular animation. Yes, I know what the Bloop is.

It was in fact disproven. This was still fantastic, what with all the reactions and everything. It continually makes jokes for five minutes. The "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" thing is way more outdated than anything else. Is there a "Devil May Cry" section here?

Bobert-Rob responds:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's a Devil May Cry section or playlist or whatever. It's an older series, but it certainly has its place on NG. I only ever played the 2nd one myself (often lauded as the worst), but a fan donated money and requested I do something with the Vergil character, so I figured why not? It was fun enough. I'm glad it's getting any kind of recognition, it's really difficult to get anyone on NG to really pay attention to my work.

Oh, and yeah, Bloop's fake as fuck. But that's part of why I use him. I can do whatever stupid shit I want with the character and it doesn't matter.

Was she directly talking to me, the audience? Anyway, I'm too tired to do that. Whatever, this is still fine. I just wish it was, you guessed it, longer. The animation is still pretty good. She doesn't need a nose.

She looks so small. It looks like she's on a desk. Like, she got shrunk down or something. The shading's pretty good. I appreciate small details like that.

do-ubt responds:

I appreciate your comments.

It might be directed at you; feel free to interpret it as you like. But if you ask me... it's talking to Scott, haha.

This was just an experiment; I'll bring longer proposals soon.

Congratulations on your graduation! I love this animation! It seemed like it was taking a darker turn. I mean, everyone would be drowning! They seem to be doing just fine. It doesn't seem like weather that would make any sense.

Then again, it's still wonderfully creative. I thought it was a dream or metaphor at first with how everything was suddenly underwater. It was in fact real. I don't know what "Zwic" means. What a great way to cool off.

SALCUL responds:

Zwic is the name of the city (and it comes from (Ze Water Is Coming) and it looks Croatian)
thx for your messageā™„

I liked this, but I just didn't think it was great. It was mostly because it was too short. It would have worked better as like a gif. Well, it probably needed sound. It was fine as something quite short. I loved the title.

It was indeed experimental. I can like those. This just didn't amount to all that much. This reminds me of some other stuff you did. The spikes are a nice touch.

jumpbreak96 responds:

zipy is boring ... just presentation ; there will be Stuff with way More production in some months (january?) with zippy; thanks

This was a great capture of the film! I was thinking this might be part of a re-animated collab. It seems like everything is nowadays. It's just a great cartoon in itself. I do indeed remember this. I don't drink coffee.

You can tell he's young. I love how realistic this movie was. They manage to capture the spirit of a kid this age so well. With a movie about a giant robot, that's hard to do. I do recall the '50s setting.

GoldennJoy responds:

Yes! This movie is a classic. I love the way it was set in the late 50's and how they managed the topics around those years. It's kind of refreshing watching this movie nowadays, especially the way they wrote Hogarth as a curious kid with a good heart and intentions.

Thank you for your words. :)

As an earlier episode, this isn't as good. It was still fun to see how some of the story started. I don't know where the "elderly" comes from. They were right! His head really does look like a toothpick! The designs are always funny.

I just missed the puppetry. I didn't recognize any stop motion in this. The animation has improved. It's interesting to note you escalated in running time with each submission. This was still fun.

TheFroginator responds:

yeah probably my least favorite of the bunch. I completed this one in under 2 months and it shows hahah

That was quite good. I liked how you showed the original scene side by side. Wait, why would you need to show that part at the beginning? I mean, it was still interesting. It seems like you guys could just submit each part and not the whole thing. This is still nice.

I'm not a fan of this movie. I appreciate how loyal you are to the original movie. I do understand people like it. Again, I'm more into "The Emperor's New Groove". It's just funnier.

violxiv responds:

It's just a nice reference to have so people can compare the original to the reanimated. It's not in the final product.

I am one of the most prolific reviewers on this website and even on the Internet! I am proud to be such a huge fan of this website!
