You guys also got your stuff for Pico Day out early this year. I don't see a lot of flashes related to it on the front page, or at least not as much as usual. From where I am typing, Happy Pico Day! I appreciate all of the work put into the animation. The chick at the beginning looks like if Ed from Cowboy Bebop switched bodies with Faye. It did seem a bit too short.

Nearly half of it was credits! Still, it's a wonderful message that you guys are sending. RicePirate is quickly becoming the new Tom Ato or however his name is said. This just had really flashy effects to it. I like all of the music selections too.

This was really neat, probably because it uses Scribblenauts. I have never played the game, but know a lot about it. It's great to see your creativity being put to the test. I am not just referring to the game, but this cartoon. The animation is very well done. I can tell you did the "Earthbound" part on NinDoh!

Or was that Kirbopher? You just have so little idea as to what's going to happen next. I appreciate the good animation used everywhere. He should have been a blue owl. Maxwell reminds me of someone from a chicken cartoon.

ScottFalco responds:

No that was kirbopher, but thanks! I had a lot of fun with this script, some of my best writing in my opinion cause it was jut kind of quick humor instead of "lawl you died dark souls" or trying hard to be one of the other famous animators out there. I felt like this was like "my style"

I have no idea how this managed to get such a high score. The drawings were very bad. I was thinking that it had to be something that was years old, but it was actually made this year. There was way too little action and it went on too long. I guess it's interesting to be the first reviewer to something so highly rated, but with so few views. There was barely any movement at all.

The outlines were also too dark. You need to have much better animation to go with this. Most of the jokes just went on too long. I'm sorry, but you need to be a lot more stylistic with a greater sense of adventure than this. The shading was pretty bad too.

TRWT responds:

Well we never once claimed we were trying to win an award for artistic design. Not a single one of us are actually animators or visual artists. I understand your view that this is over rated, and yeah it probably is, but i think your just being unreasonable and closed minded to give it half a star. As for when it was MADE it was made a long time ago only recently uploaded to newgrounds and just so happened to be the third animation we had ever made on flash. given the total lack of experience using flash, and lack of visual artists I honestly wasnt too worried about its seeming amateurish. oh...and WHAT shading? lol

That was quite strange. I had no idea that there's a really Monster Hunter game like this. Of course, there have been so many in that mon genre, it wouldn't surprise me. I didn't like it how it seemed to end abruptly. I guess I'm just too used to more elaborate stuff from you. For the most part, it's a good cartoon.

I actually think that's a pretty realistic representation of how you would take down a massive beast like that. I don't know much for facts, I'm not a hunter. You probably could have just made it more elaborate. The animation is fairly good too. It just isn't one of my favorites from you.

NCH responds:

well, the animation's joke is targeted to a niche audience to those who played the game. so its understandable you are left out in the cold of it to not get the joke.

I knew your next submission would be on front page. This is the first one since I reviewed it last, right? Anyway, I loved the animation in this. I guess I just thought that this had some real visionary elements in it. I appreciated all the details put into everything. I think my favorite part was when he harpooned through all those animals.

No, I don't remember his name. At least I was reminded about Fernando. It was great to see two of your most popular characters together, even if they really didn't interact. I live near the ocean, so I know what it's like to dream like this. Dang, that's a nice boat.

Sexual-Lobster responds:

thanks, ericho.

Dude, this is freaking awesome! I hope this wins Daily Feature and every other good award out there. I have heard variants of this song before, but I think this is my favorite. It's just freaking awesome to hear all these awesome lyrics. It seems like an experiment for you, mrSimon. Is Peter your dad?

Maybe not, as it would be weird to thank him twice. I freaking love how adorable this is, especially with how the singer character looks like Bubbles. The voice is just wonderful and flows so well. I'm not a fan of "Portal" but you don't have to be one to love this. The animation moves so perfectly. I've said "freaking" a lot in this review, haven't I?

icklejennywren responds:

you're so freaking nice! XD MrSimon and Peter are my brothers :)

I couldn't help but be a little delighted by this. I think it's mostly because it's so colorful. The music is also seriously insane. I think this actually would have worked well as a gif. You can submit those on the Art Portal, you know. It's interesting to see how many colors you get with this.

Not much else to say, except that it seems to fit the tone of Clock Day well. While it had nothing to do with Clocks in itself, it was certainly insane enough. I would like to see a game made out of this. Too bad there's already a Weegee meme. At least a lot of people like this. I have no clue what's going on.

Punisher responds:

fuck you.

I really like this, because you just don't know what's going to pop up next. It seems like you were trying to turn this into a series. It seems like you guys aren't, given how it doesn't have a number in its title. I still appreciate all the hard work put into this. It helps that all of the characters have such unique designs. I love how everyone had a different voice actor.

I'm never going to do a voice for anyone, will I? Why do most things I've been seeing lately featured big boobed women? Not that I have a problem with that. I didn't understand the title much. It was great to hear such a lively cast.

Twisted4000 responds:

You are smart and correct, this WAS supposed to be a series, but as I have said in the past, I didn't like the idea enough to continue it after the first couple months, which made me make it a one-hit-wonder, and that really hurt the story and left a few plot holes, unfortunately. As for the voice thing, it depends on if your voice matches any characters I'm using. I usually just use friends of mine to voice stuff though.

Okay, that was a very strange cartoon. Unfortunately, I don't think it's a good one. It doesn't help that I was just in a forum about the saddest comics you had ever seen, one of which was about parental incest. Anyway, I guess I admire this for being different. I just wish it had more of a point. I had no idea what the giraffe had to do with anything.

I don't know if there was supposed to be some ethnic joke about the character's name. Was it something about his father? What did Chewbacca have to do with anything? I guess in terms of surrealness, you need something with more going on. I just don't like it.

funymony responds:

Aww man, that's terrible!
Well hopefully seeing multiple crappy silly cartoons has liften you up since then.
I once read the Walking Dead in one go within 8 hours. I was completely depressed the next day.
So depressed, I bought myself a bunch of pizza to get over it.

I'm also greatful that you didn't give it 0 stars because there was SOME effort put into it.
Pedrito was a spontaneous name I gave the little boy character when I animated my other short "Furby Murder Mansion" I'm also hispanic and Pedrito was the name of a friend I had in Mexico.

I found Chewbacca at the thrift store for a dollar and thought he'd be great for stop motion because of his heavy feet and pose-able arms.

I hope you have a good one! Thanks for the review!

When I first came across this, I thought it was going to be an infinite loop. I guess it's because I'm just so used to those here. I was proud of myself for finding out the point at which it became a loop, because I sometimes have problems with that. Imagine my disappointment to find out it was not one at the end. The actual cartoon was very nicely done. My favorite part is probably the space manatee.

Black hole is something that sounds like a sexual metaphor easily. You still managed to not even make it that much about sex. The artwork/animation is as fantastic as ever. You're up there with Nitrome for having practically every submission being frontpaged. This is a pretty cool character too.

Sexual-Lobster responds:

oh ericho get your mind out of the gutter, this is about a man with a broken heart that needs to be filled with love, not sex!

I am one of the most prolific reviewers on this website and even on the Internet! I am proud to be such a huge fan of this website!
