Quaint song

I never thought I could call a song "quaint" but this definitley qualifies. Its biggest strength is that it really does offer some unique parts. There are so many themes but overall it's a theme that's kind of mystery but also one of intrigue. There just seem to be a lot of things going on, but it's not all jumbled. It's not the best thing out there, but it's still very nicely done. It even has a sort of defiant tone, which would fit Robot Day.

There are just so many different themes in this one. It's like you're trying to make out going on a strange journey maybe to a circus or something? It's manic, but it's subtle in how manic it is. I know that doesn't make sense, but it's still really cool to listen to. I am so glad Robot Day gave us such good audio pieces.

I can't break it

Wow, I have never seen any submission where every review had a 10 out of 10! I simply can not break this tradition! What makes this piece work so well is that it has a great sense of style and happiness to it. There isn't any attempt to be vulgar, or anything like that at all! Not that I have a problem with vulgarity, this is just a fantastic and unique song! I think the best thing about it is probably how well it all fits together.

That kind of makes me hungry for cream cheese sandwiches. I love those things on bagels. I also love how you use such a soft voice for this submission. This isn't much of an attempt to be hardcore or anything, just a cool voice. I have no idea how this managed to get into an entry called "Lab Of The Dead".

Evil-Dog responds:

Maybe you're unaware of the backstory of the song. Tom Fulp, the creator of newgrounds sang this song acapella in a movie called Africa Dudes. I found it very funny and made a punk remix of the song. I also made Lab of the Dead and decide to put it in my game along with "Tetris On The Toilet" :D

I'm also surprised about the 10/10 review, there's a couple 9/10 I think but the average is still 10/10 which is amazing haha

How'd you do this?!

This is one of the most epic pieces of music I've ever heard on this entire website! What's really sweet is how you consistently keep up your beat. It might not be the longest one I have ever heard, that would probably be one of Kirbopher's remixes. It's great to listen to this becaue it gives you a true feeling of being in a great battle. It's a song so long you even had to divide it up into seperate parts! I am somewhat familiar with what you are talking about in the description.

It helps that I'm a Marvel fan. I don't seem to remember hearing the whole thing in the "Wrath Of God" submission that I played, probably because I didn't beat the game. You're a true tribute to people who work for a long time on audio submissions. I always strive to hear lengthy songs that keep your attention the whole way through. It shows that no time was wasted. Will you make the story into a flash?

OrphenFire responds:

Thank you so much (: I did spend several hours on this. But I don't know how to do flash. If a very good flash artist/animator wants to team up with me, I would be thrilled to create an animated version of the Annihilation story. It's one of the greatest graphic novels ever written, hence the reason I was so inspired to create this music.

Too fun!

It just goes to show how good you can make something that has a nice, easy tune to it. The best part about this is probably how it consistently keeps up how good it is. It's just great to listen to these nice tunes played over and over. I was thinking you'd maybe make some crude joke about Indians. Dang, I really have been on this website for too long. Oh well, it reminds me of when I had some things like hoedowns at school as a kid.

This just seems to perfectly capture the joy of hoedowns. I guess since those are kind of related to the Old West, it only fits that there would be Indians related to it somehow. I can just imagine the piano keys being played in my head. It's great how you really give off a cheery mood to the listeners. It's nothing too elaborate or anything like that, because it simply doesn't need to in order to be great. A true classic!

What an odd name

It sounds like the name of some long forgotten Russian scientist. This is great to listen to, because it gives off a real sense of adventure. I can tell the fact that it was used for something called "Pico Jones". That makes me think of him being in an Indiana Jones scenario. But enough of that flash, this is great in itself. The coolest thing is probably how it really gives you the sense of being in an adventure. It gets more fast paced as it goes along.

It consistently keeps up a strong tone to it. It's great to hear a consistent portrayal of adventure when you don't know where it's going. I hope you continue to make interesting things like this. I love at around 2:20 when it becomes more surreal and changes tone. Variety is always a good idea to have in a song.

RealPublic responds:

That's an awesome review!

Please, review more of my songs :D

Great stuff!

What made me so happy about this was how it kept up how good it was the whole time. From beginning to end, there were these authentic ninja/samurai sounds. It really gave you the feeling that you were going off on some wild adventure. It wasn't scary most of the time, but more of a feeling of wonder. I guess that's where the word "wonderful" came from? There is simpy high paced action and awesome lyrics the entire time around.

You don't know where this thing is going. There are a few pauses with softer music and a few times where the music changes completely. There's little bits of music thrown in for good measure and a great trip the entire time. I can understand why this was used in a fair number of flash submissions. It's great to know how you extended it from being less than half a minute long. The instrumentals keep the thrills up the whole time!

Very ambitious

This submission really works because it has such a high spirit to it. It's great to provide a description of the history behind this. There were just so many themes going on that it was hard to tell what the main theme was. At first it appeared to be one of action, but later it seemed to be one of mystery. Perhaps not so much mystery after that, but a combination of both elements, including danger. I like how it even ends on a different note, with a more soft tune.

There is no way that this is half-assed work man! While it could have moved a little more fluidly, it is definitley worth checking out! It's great to see how well it builds up with so much ambition. It kind of seems like people are going on a journey at one point, but more like in an MMORPG. This would make good background music for something like that.

blackattackbitch responds:

Can't believe someone flagged this as useless, thanks dude.

You hit on one of my biggest problems when it comes to composing, that being my almost complete inability to stick with just one theme and emotion throughout the piece.

Thanks for the review, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Very pleasant song

Here is a song that works because of how nice it is. I really was able to envision myself in the author comments. It was great this went along with the game "Riddles Of Renaissance". That is probably the most popular artsy game were have on this website. I am so glad you didn't try to make this flashy or anything, just the nitty gritty good music. It kind of gives off a feeling of tiptoeing or sneaking around.

I guess that might be because it is just so subtle in everything it is. It's something you would imagine on a trip to the park or a walk around the neighborhood. I can just see all the notes that are being struck at this time. It's great you made something that brings you a peace of mind. Popular artists should be proud!

Very stylistic!

I liked this submission because it seemed to have a lot of style with it. There was plenty of variety to go around. I was a bit confused as to what the overall tone was supposed to be. Of course, that rarely stopped me from liking an awesome song like this! I think the tone is kind of a gangster one, as I can hear some yells at some point. It might even give off the tone of being in some place going on a great quest, as many songs do.

I just love how the music seems to be all over the place here. It's great to keep the consistent instrumentals, which I can't identify. It just seems like you went out of your way to put a lot of zaniness in this. The reason it's hard to think of this song's theme is because it simply goes everywhere with itself! This was good and creative.

I am one of the most prolific reviewers on this website and even on the Internet! I am proud to be such a huge fan of this website!
