Okay, that was one of the most random Batman cartoons I've ever seen in my life. I guess for the most part it was good, just very, very strange. I do appreciate how you try to put in some real good animation. I especially love Harley Quinn and how her boobs bounce around like that. I guess it would be gauche of me to be reminded of the "Dark Knight Rises" movie coming out this year. I was, anyway.

I notice El-Cid wasn't credited in the credits, but whatever. The voices were pretty spot on and they truly captured the insanity and stupidity of this cartoon. It is pretty satisfying to just throw stuff and crush your enemy like that. Everyone put in a decent amount of effort for this. That's a strange love triangle.

RicePirate responds:

El-cid did the splash page art, that i found in the art portal. And he's credited in the bottom corner of the splash page :)

This isn't that good, but it's still enjoyable. It's always nice to be able to listen to that awesome "Mad World" song. What I didn't understand was why you even decided to make this a Madness flash in the first place. It doesn't have much violence and doesn't seem to connect with the theme well. The only violence was him dying with the car. I guess it goes to show that Madness Combat can create any deriavitive material.

I do think this is a fairly good story that is being told. It's the kind of thing that most ordinary people can associate themselves with. Hopefully, we'll all be able to have some joy and success in our lives. Congradulations on getting such a high rating! It seems like every Madness flash is in the Top 50 now.

Rapheus responds:

That's pretty much what I was going for. Madness but not. This animation takes place in my MadSeth universe, where I try to shoehorn in a story, not just a massive kill count. I very much appreciate your review, though.

Sometimes we must go against the grain and do what isn't orthodox.

WOAH, I'm so glad you told me about this! This is one of the most awesome flashes I've seen in a long time! I think the main thing that makes it so good is how fantastic the graphics and designs are. It's like one minute everything is done in sprites while the next it's done with hand drawn stuff. You rarely see a submission use both of those things prominently. I freaking loved the action and characters in this.

I guess not a single bit of a Shyguy's body is known. I appreciate the wide variety of voices. It's also great that you dedicated this to Randy Solem because he's such an awesome guy who deserves this tribute. It does seem like something he would work on. You are right, nostalgia will never die for neither him nor sprite games. It's a great cartoon!

Eastbeast responds:

Thanks I really appreciate your review, especially since you've been around NG enough to know about it's history. Randy Solem passed away about 3/4ths of the way through the production of this flash, near completion I realized I probably would never have found out about spriting, much less Newgrounds without his work. His epic, no boundary ideas were big inspiration on this piece, and a lot of my work in general. I hope to move on and make the next flash with entirely drawn animation, although the feeling of a big epic piece will still be there. Thanks for the review, it means a lot that you liked it. maybe you'll find out my interpretation of the shyguy's face in the next one? -Esty

I thought you did try to have more of a story than some of your other work. What I didn't like was how this just seemed to go on too long. There wasn't even a single action scene! Don't get me wrong, emotional stuff it good too, but it just doesn't add up to much here. I did think the music was pretty good. I think the sprite work is alright, but it doesn't really go anywhere.

Maybe the finale with the action will make up for this. This was okay, not something I would recommend. There should have been more movement and better written text. I can see how you were influenced by SMBZ for this. Alvin-Earthworom was actually inspired by Kirbopher's TTA series.

Punisher33 responds:

This is going to slowly lead up to the action scenes sense it's going to be explaining origins. not much action right away. it builds up to it. trust me. episode 2 is gonna be crazy insane. and very involved.

I thought the animation was fairly unique. It is kind of disappointing to watch a Madness cartoon and not have a single person die. I was wondering what they meant by XP. I thought maybe it was code for some drug, but I realize it was just the kind of XP that we talk about on this website. It was pretty funny at the end with how they just danced like that. I need to get more used to recognizing Sanford.

I know the other one is called Deimos, but they're not that well known. It would be so much more awesome if there was some action in this because everything looks so nice in this cartoon! The music is really cool, especially on the intro. The menu is also very nice. Just make it longer with action, okay?

Hank-Wimbleton responds:

wow, such an amazing review. i think i might cry.

would hank, sanford and deimos having a threesome count as action? too soon?

This is the only NATA submission I've reviewed that had dialogue in it. I wonder why? I guess music videos are just more popular nowadays for letting the action tell the story. The end of this was extremely satisfying. What I thought was going to happen was that the guy was going to start having the elephant in his room. That kind of happened, just not the way I expected it.

I laughed out loud at the joke about the guy's wife. Seems kind of crass for me to do that. Anyway, I guess I'm done with NATA and it's great to see how different people contributed to this idea. The animation could have been better, but it was funny enough to really like. I love how it all works out in the end.

koit responds:

Yay, thanks for the review. I like it not because it was positive, more to the point it was a review !

Thanks though and I'm glad you did enjoy it. :)

This was a wonderfully animated cartoon, even though I couldn't understand it. It looks like it was trying to come off with some message about yourself, possibly. Is this you how see yourself? As a elephant who minds his own business while weird people do stupid things around you? Whatever it was, congradulations on getting popular with this for the first round of NATA 2012. You even made the sign logo!

The sounds are pretty good in this too. I don't think elephants drink out their noses per se. Of course, this is a cartoon where gray people change their shapes and stuff, so it's probably nothing to be too concerned about it. That drinking sound still goes after the cartoon ends. He must be thirsty.

DieterTheuns responds:

Idea was keeping it very open for interpretation. Basically, any symbolism you see in it is right. Thanks for the review :)

DUDE, this is the longest flash cartoon I have EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE! You say this goes on for like thirty minutes, but it's a lot more than that! This thing goes on for a whopping FOURTY-ONE MINUTES!! I guess the only reason this hasn't gotten more views is because it just seems to never end. At least you are getting the recognition you deserve by it having such a high rating! I honestly had no idea where this thing was going!

For the first ten minutes, I was a bit bored, because it didn't seem like anything special. As the longest flash cartoon I've ever seen, it played just like an actual movie, with its drama being built after that time. Unlike Sonichu, you've created a Pikachu video game hybrid who's actually cool. Loved the part at the end where you were talking about how it didn't make sense. I think the second longest flash cartoon I've ever seen is "Super Mario Bros. Z Ep 7" which was forty minutes long. This is a monumental achievement!

Pienkaito responds:

Wow, thanks for the praise and your time for writing this review.

I am one of the most prolific reviewers on this website and even on the Internet! I am proud to be such a huge fan of this website!
