Very scary

Woah, this has got to be one of the most demented submissions I have ever stumbled upon. It just makes no sense at all, but everything works out because it's so dang creepy. When I first heard the title of this cartoon, I suspected it was not going to be something pleasant. This had simply spectacular animation not to mention one of the creepiest atmospheres ever. It seems like the clown is just a dead body at first. It turns out to be something even more disturbing!

There's so much detail put into every aspect of the clown and how torn up his body is. I don't know if he's a zombie, but I doubt you can survive wounds like that. The way he just stands there as the insects destroy his body. He even gets his revenge by eating some of them. This is amazingly scary and a must watch for any horror fan!

Thanks for such a detailed review, I appreciate it!

Not one of my favorites

I could not really understand how this was supposed to be that great. I admit that it is a pretty original idea, but there's still not much to it. It appears to just be this fat man taking a dump and smelling his feces. It's not that I'm against really crude things, but this does not seem to have much style to it. The best part was the animation, as it was not only good but pretty original. For those of you wondering there's a picture of a breast on his wall and it says, "My tit senses are tingling".

It kind of makes you realize that tissue paper and toilet paper are pretty much the same thing. There was some effort put into it, particularly with how the poo stained on the screen. There are a couple of things in the background and foreground, but not that much detail. I guess something taking place in the bathroom wouldn't need a lot of detail, would it? Next time, try in put in more jokes.

Synching?

Well, it looks like you achieved your goal of making a test for lip synching. The main flaw is that you really should not submit something just for a test. Exceptions would be game demos. You could have at least put a background in or a lot more detail. The best part was that the animation you showed actually was kind of funny. It just did not work well as something in its own right because it had so little going for it.

I hope you use this test to make better submissions in the future. You seem to be off to a good start and at least you threw in Pedobear. The guy in the beginning remind me of the animation by Explosm. It's actually not too bad animation. It is just that most people prefer to look at submissions that are fully intended to be finished.

HWFTW responds:

Hmm yeah I know EXACTLY what you mean ;) Thanks for the review, it helps alot. Yeah well this is also (I didn't mention this) getting used to my new computer. Keyboard layout and so on is different to my old one (which my fingers were atuned to) and I need to get used to this one. Once I get used to it, a bit of practise, experiments and so on, I can make decent animations :D
Thanks again,

Can't really hate it

This was a cartoon that had some good parts to it, but overall it just did not deliver well. The weirdest thing was the animation and just how non-sequitor it looked. I can't really call it sloppy because when I look at it, it really does strike me as unique. Some bad scenes include the caterpillar which looks like he's just airbrushed on. I couldn't find much of a point but it didn't need one. The thing is certainly unique, it's just that it's so weird it's a bit hard to enjoy.

I suggest you brush up on animation and put in more of a background. The best use of animation was actually at the end when you showed your name in the effects. I would have liked to see something of that quality throughout the whole submission. The music was kind of weird, but I guess it fit with the cartoon's theme. You certainly have potential for uniqueness.

flashmakeit responds:

well thanks for the interesting review
the animation at the end is called a shape tween that is easy to do it just hard to do in color.
the story was suppose to be about how a butterfly would live if it was a fairy why is that so weird?

Not much

I was not a big fan of Robocop until I stumbled upon this one amazing rap video I found of him. That is really the only way that I know for a fact this is from the movie. He is technically a cyborg, so I do not think he qualifies under the "Robot" category. Still, he is kind of like a machine. What I suggest is that you not make this an infinite loop and try to have a lot more of a story. This sort of thing would feel at home at a place that works with gifs.

I have no problem with submissions that are really short or even loops, as they can be good. This just does not seem to do the character any justice. I guess it is pretty funny to see him wave around so stupidly. While not with many views, you managed to get a really high score on this for some reason. Try to have more of a joke next time.

Very nice!

It was just so unexpected when the giant brother showed up, I thought that was a little too weird. Apart from that, it was pretty much perfect. The best thing about it was how good the animation was with the killing and everything. The coolest part was probably when they were on the building and he was just shooting the flying stick figures coming at him. It makes no sense, but dang is it cool! Each stick seemed to have a different color scheme and it's like you rarely see that in stick flashes.

It just goes to show you how these will never die. Too bad the guy who made cartoons making fun of them did die you know (but he wasn't against them). The music was nice and appropriate. This was extremely unpredictable too. The artwork in the background and even the weapons was nicely done as well. You guys make a good team.

IaMI2002 responds:

Thanks Ericho! I'm glad you liked the killing and everything. Good Suggestions and comment on the film. I'll keep these in mind!

Not terrible

This was alright to watch, but it did not really have that many things that were good about it. The thing that works and doesn't work with this is that there's really nothing good or bad about it. The sound is pretty good, but not much else. It seems like you could use a background put onto this. I know that you do not have to have the most complicated animation to make it good, but there should have been more action. It is funny to see a girl get eaten by a monster.

It looks like you may be getting better all the time. I suggest you work on having more jokes and perhaps add some color or make more of a final punchline. Short things like this can work, but they need to be more different. Of all the tens of thousands of flashes out here, you need something special to stand out. Not bad, but not good either.

VenturaTV responds:

Well this is that type of movie I made in under a day a t 2:00 in the morning because it just poped in my head as a day dream while playing call of duty black ops it was colored and a background but it just looked like crap so I had no color or background and liked the way it looked it's not the funniest flash I ever made but it was longer and funnier than my first one

Quite inspiring

People are always going to come up with new and original Madness tributes. The best thing about this is how good the character designs are. The best definitley belongs to the main enemy he fights at the end with the red visor. It was funny to see its armor being taken off and it is revealed to be a guy with a face! That has to be the longest epilogue I have seen in a cartoon in proportion to the rest of its length. I could not understand the chalky scenes, but they were certainly cool.

It seems like you could have just put the whole thing in one bit without the dialogue. The red words at the beginning on the screen say "WARNING!". I looked at some of the posters and one of them has a guy with the captain "WANTED: Extremely dead". I think another has a picture of a cat saying, "WANTED: On fire". It's weird how he has blue blood.

tomtyke responds:

if you look very carefully, i did put a little bit of humour in there, nice and tidy so it's hard to spot, read what the password is during the note section ;D

One of the best

This is one of the most enjoyable entries in this long running series, if only because of the use of those Scooby Doo doors. Man, that has been done so many times but it will never get out! I loved seeing Pac-Man, the cast of 8-bit Theater, the Monty Python foot, and Mario and the Koopa Troopa! A pity there was no funny prologue. At least we got to see the awesome ending sequence. There was a lot of good animation here, especially with Scooby-Doo and Shaggy (whoops, forgot their cameo!).

I was wondering myself why the cat did not just go under the cage. It is great how this one relied heavily on humor while still having a good story. You really have come a long way as appears to be one of the earlier entries. Some of it gets a bit too talky, but it's still something worth watching. The voice work, what little there was, was great as always.

Clovis15 responds:

I'm glad you liked this episode, especially the staircase chase sequence. Although I've since done much harder things in flash, it was at the time the most nerve wracking thing I've ever tried. As for things like the cat just going under the bars, its things like this that we strive for on the CTU production team. Sometimes common sense itself, applied to uncommon situations, can be the most rewarding outcome.

NIce little thing

This was a decent effort to make for 2009's Clock Day. The best part was when all of those buses fell on LeekClock. I believe that the bearded clock was supposed to be GodClock, so it's too bad God was killed by a bus running over him. I also admired the animation used in this because it was pretty well done. While not that good in terms of transition effects, the designs of the clocks and everything was done fairly well. It's just great to see the Clock Crew doing what it does best, be non-sequitor.

While short, it still had most of what you would want in a funny flash. I really like how you used a different thing to signify the end even if you still used the same sound. I guess this just goes to show how unlucky beards are. It's also nice how the gray clock just stands there the whole time looking so deadpan. I guess he's glad not to take part in that silliness.

OctopusClock responds:

thank you sir.
