I kind of wish this was longer, but this is still great for what it is. What's cool is that the animation is as fantastic as ever. You will never cease to have a colorful arrangement of characters doing random mischief. I admit, I was not expecting a scorpion monkey to come into this. At first, I thought it would be mostly a music video at full length. It was more of a one joke thing, but still wonderfully done.

I like how sinister and deadpan the voices are. If it's the same guy doing all the voices, then he's (or your) doing a great job. Once again, you deviated from having any recognizable characters as your stuff is so random, you don't need to use them. At least the guy behind it had his arm broken. I guess they are even in that sense.

Sexual-Lobster responds:

thanks ericho - i voiced the blonde dude and my friend peter voiced tony.

I don't think I'll review the fourth episode. Well, it's been a long time since I watched the first entry. I think the sprite work was actually pretty good in this. There were a lot of problems, though. First, there wasn't enough action. I have no problem with there being dialogue everywhere, but it doesn't really add up to much.

I noticed there were some spelling errors and when the characters show up with their dialogue, they get kind of a scrunched image of themselves. I think "Dragonball Z" and "Sailor Moon" are the two most popular series for crossovers. The credits also seem pretty slow. You could maybe work on having the characters fit into the series better. There's just so much stuff out there, it's hard to find stuff that unique.

Punisher33 responds:

I chose these two cause i did a story of them when i was in jhs of the redo of the cell games it involved the street fighters also. so i said why the hell not. i will go into everything in my new series.

It's too bad the lyrics never surfaced. Then again, this did have some music with it, so it does have sound in a sense. What's funny is how I was a bit disappointed with how this didn't seem to be as wacky as some of your other submissions. I was pleasantly surprised when it randomly had the Devil appearing and destroying things. It's really the kind of cartoon where you have no idea what is going to happen next. I guess it could have had more action, but it doesn't need it.

I guess the moral is something along the lines of don't steal doughnuts or the Devil will destroy everything. Well, at least you're sending a good message! This seemed to be something new as it didn't have any recognizable characters from your other stuff. Dude, I think this is the highest score of anything I've seen since the new website layout! Congradulations!

Sexual-Lobster responds:

thanks ericho

What I thought was funny about this was that it really did seem different than other things you had made. It's probably the darkest thing you ever made. It seems more like something David Firth would do. I appreciate you trying on a new style. There wasn't a lot of wacky animation in this, but the overall premise was wacky enough. I think the best part is when the baby burns the person's skin.

I like how you consistently keep up that voice. It's great how you used the name "Penny" as it's a very cute name. While not very long, this still delivered the goods. You will simply never stop submitting good stuff to the Portal, will you? One of the most prolific artists I've seen.

LazyMuffin responds:

This is dark? I think that Desktop Stripper and even the second half of Lazy Writing 5 is a lot darker than this. I don't even consider it a new style, I just tried to make it more commercial-ish cause it's also sort of making fun of toy commercials.

Thank you for all the comments, I read them all.

You simply will not stop making awesome cartoons like this. What's really cool is how you're able to steadily keep up the movements of these guys. I love how each and every one has a different kind of movement. The blue skeleton is the only figure who stays in the same place, I think. The blue dog (or wolf, whatever that thing is) seems to go backwards. The red snake goes forward as does the red piranha or whatever that thing is.

It could have probably had more than just the same thing over and over, but it's still a well done thing. You could have had more colors to make it more psychadelic. The music was pretty good too. It kind of reminds me of the stuff done by Weebl, only better animated. I'm not belittling Weebl, just saying your artwork is better than his.

TheBoogley responds:

after making this I'm considering making some sort of series of these with different shots and connecting them together into a massive psychadelic freakout. Kind of like Vince Collins Bincentennial animation (called "200") from the 70's.

I'm not sure if actual Greek mythology could count as history. Then again, I guess you could say the same thing about most religions. What's funny is how you're able to only intervene a few times and let the characters do the rest. I think this is one of your better submissions, if only because it's great to see how these characters play off each other. I was in no way expecting the little guy to win! Of course, something bad does happen to him at the end.

Then again, that same thing happens to everyone else. It took me awhile to get the joke, the guy wore glasses because he was blind and thus immune to Medusa. That's why he was using the signs wrong. It's great because you have no idea what's going to happen next. I imagine the next will be the Roman Empire, perhaps?

captainmcross responds:

Roman Empire coming soon...but next I am doing ancient China and the Silk trade!

Wow, I'm surprised you managed to come up with a new episode so quickly! Well, I imagine that after doing a lot of them, you'd get used to it. It's great to see how this develops over time. I must have misheard him at first, because I thought Snake was his changed name. Hey, Gaylord doesn't have much of a better name. The best part is probably at the end when you see all those monsters.

It' s easily the best animation presented so far in the series. I have a feeling this next episode is going to be really good. I appreciated the slick animation. It's kind of funny and kind of sad to see the mine things being burnt like that. Gaylord has the best voice, because of how insane he sounds.

Falconer02 responds:

I agree with you about Gaylord-- he definitely has the best voice out of all of the characters. Thanks!

I am one of the most prolific reviewers on this website and even on the Internet! I am proud to be such a huge fan of this website!
