No, it doesn't

I would be thinking that the first thing that would come up on the art portal for Explosm would be a comic. I am fairly certain you guys can put that stuff up. This picture is disappointing because it doesn't seem anything like you. Well, I know what it's like to submit something just for the sake of it being your first one. Now, the drawing itself is not a terrible one it's just that it isn't much. If you guys can draw like this it would be cool to see it in some of your submissions.

I really don't think this guy looks hungry at all, I think he looks more curious. It's the way he lifts up his eyebrow and looks over that gives me the feeling. It's more like he's trying to look at something we do not see. I actually think that would have made a much more intriguing description. Next time, try to put in more detail or put an actual comic here.

As usual, it was a good idea to have a poem used in the author comments. In fact, I don't think I've ever even given you credit on having poems be in your descriptions. This did not do too well with me because there was not a lot of variety in this picture. I am so more used to you having a bunch of elaborate designs everywhere. The creature in this picture seems more generic. It's still not a terrible picture.

At least you know the basic things that make artwork good. The way the spine pops out through the creature's back is nicely done, if not original. I still like the shades of marker that run through the background. You never see that in digital photos people make. My, I had no idea you could submit so many things on the same day.

[Final Scarecrow design]

The scarecrow is back!

It seems like it had been too long a time since we had seen this guy appear. What's really cool about him is how his sinister appearance really works. It wasn't until looking at it for awhile that I noticed there's his human face in the side of the picture. I don't know why, but the green chemicals do make him look a bit goofy. It's still nice to see all of the detail put into his head and face. I never noticed the button on the side of his neck.

There are so many different shades in this, all on his body. His arm without his jacket has a really pale appearance. What also works is that, as usual, you keep those really long sharp claws in the work. This reminded me of "The Wizard Of Oz" because of a scarecrow and the green things around him look like emeralds. I now notice the black stuff on top is his hair.

Now I get it

I was a bit confused at first because I wasn't sure who those other guys are supposed to be. They kind of looked like earlier versions of Hank before he was injured and stuff. I now recall those characters from the episode. What is cool is that you are giving these guys the recognition they deserve. Those only familiar with the first couple of episodes would not know who these characters are. This is easily one of the strangest MC tributes I've ever seen.

What's weird is that everyone just looks so realistic. I can still see some of those cross faces but the proportions of their body are so well done it's kind of creepy. Of course, an image with a guy leaking blood out of his mouth is supposed to be creepy. Hank is easily the best looking of all because of how sinister he is. The shading is dang impressive too.

Ooh, better

This art piece is very well done because it shows off your innovation while still being authentic to your original style. The coolest thing would have to be the two black heads that have their mouths open. They seem to be equally distributed through the appearance of this woman, I believe Sarah is her name? I only see one webcomic on your website and it's great to know that you have so many things planned. What really won me over was how well the shading was in the background.

This is a great authentic feel of black chalk drawings around the woman. It gives off the idea that she is being put away into darkness. The black swirls around the body somewhat remind me of the Slender Man. She almost resembles a crucified Jesus too. I am glad that you consistently make fine pieces like this.

[Spongebob Murderpants]

I like this art piece because it's so cool to see a style to authentic to that of "The Shining". Spongebob just looks so deranged because of how realistic he is drawn. He has the facial hair (I doubt sponges have hair) and a long nose. Well, the nose is more like his cartoon appearance, but it still looks really strange. Even the pores and holes in his body are well pronounced. His cheeks appear to be sagging near the door.

I just feel as though this would have been perfect if he was holding an actual weapon. The shading and coloring is still done well and emphasizes the madness in his mind. I also liked how you worked hard to put in a background with different shades. The door looks pretty different on the opposite sides. The teeth look sinister as well.

glad you like it, I only wanted to mimic the famous video still that captures the madness of jack nicolson. thats whey i did not bother with details like hands or weapons.

fun fact: the cells of real sponges are capable of reassembling after being pulverized.

Try harder, almost there!

I think what made this one of your lesser submissions was that there was no color. The monster itself seem to be kind of cluttered up on the screen. It didn't move very gracefully with all the lines around it. At least it's not bad because it does give off a good frightening sense seeing as how the monster is looking right at you like that. It's also cool to have that description. It's almost like the description wraps around the page itself!

It seems like you would made a great short story horror writer. I think those things on the monster's chest are supposed to be breasts in some weird way. It's hard to make out, but from your macabre mind it can make sense. The black lines are probably the strongest point as they are somewhat graceful. The faces on the souls are quite disturbing.

He looks great!

I don't see why this has an "M" rating. There's no blood or anything else on the screen, but now I notice it is because it has the f-word on the title screen. This is a very well done art piece, because it truly captures the action-ness of the nerd. The coolest feature is probably how he has darkness covering part of his body. It gives the illusion that he's coming out of the shadows and ready for revenge. Granted, I wouldn't know what revenge that would be.

This should please any AVGN fans as it really shows him in his prime. It is put into the authentic style of the game Street Fighter IV. That just seems to be one of the most popular games in recent years. I don't know what a buffalo uppercut would mean in this text. Is it perhaps referring to the buffalo taking a diarrhea dump in his air in the theme song?

Too cool

I liked this art piece a lot because it was just so insane and detailed. It even seemed like the piece itself was divided into these little parts. Each part shows a different image and a different part of the story. Putting your dreams into artwork is always a great idea because you know that it came from your mind and nowhere else. I know what it's like to have dreams and then not be able to remember them until later. The use of color was really well done as well.

Most of this is in black and white except for the red on the other images. The faces, however, are white because that is how they were presented in your dream. The colors run so smoothly through the character's clothing. It even seems like the people in the frames are looking at the two in front. Another unique art piece from you!

[Mighty Morphing Power Rangers]

Looks so good!

I probably didn't give this as high as a rating as most people because I am not a Power Rangers fan. I can, however, recommend this to anyone who is a big PR fan. You manage to capture the realisticness of the situation so well. That is something that everyone who is at least a fan of art can appreciate. The Green and White Ranger are the coolest, probably because they were added later and have extra clothing unlike the other characters. It's cool to look at the buildings in the background.

The only problem I had is that the rangers seemed to have big bulges near their crotches. That might be more of their armor as I don't know much about the specific appearances of the Power Rangers. Their muscles (or suits perhaps) are so toned out in this. It really gives you a sense of everyone being here and ready to fight evil. You can even see the differences in their costumes.
