Decent

While not one of your best works, this was watchable. Wait, is it possible for a single picture to even be watchable? Anyway, this was pretty well done because it was an original character and thus I can not complain about how it is not faithful to the original character. It looks like the picture of Dweller was never really finished as it was not in color. What would have worked was to have a background. I know this is just a sketch but it does look unfinished.

The claws you draw are once again really well done and I like the black tips. It's interesting how Drake is looking around his environment. It seems like he could be in a fish out of water story regarding a demon. The scarf is so sharply drawn here it almost looks like it could be a weapon. The horns are a little cute too.

The nerd!

It seems like it's been awhile since I have seen stuff featuring the Angry Video Game Nerd. What's really impressive about this art piece is that it's so well drawn. This looks just like what the Nerd would look like if he was in the Street Fighter game. The effects done are downright awesome and look so CGI! It would have been nice to see them fighting but still a very well done art piece. I think it's funny how his attack is the "F Bomb".

I can just imagine him using that power while fighting Ryu. He just looks so dignified with that clean haircut. It reminds me of the haircut I just got today, too bad I don't have a power glove like that. Everything is so authentic to the original style of the real game it makes me think you would be great at game designing here.

The real Slenderman!

This is a much better picture because we get to see the actual Slenderman! It is here that your effect for drawing long claws is really used well. The best part is probably how the Slenderman himself seems to have all these arms popping out of his body. The blackness of his clothes (or is that part of his skin?) is a great dark touch. He actually reminds me of the Internet group Anonymous. They too are a faceless entity that wears a suit.

His lack of expression allows him to be really terrifying because his actions tell what he's thinking. I think it's cool that the other character is named Masky. The background is great too and gives off all these cool effects. It shows how good you are for making authentic stuff on regular paper. It really shows off your skills as an artist.

Nice strange picture

This was a good picture because it showed something that was truly absurd. It's kind of a recursive picture in that it keeps coming back to the same thing over and over. It kind of makes you wonder what his face looks like. The only problem is that it seems a bit odd for the character/being to be in such a nice looking place. Normally, that would be a good contrast but it just comes off as awkward here. It just seems like he has too many toes.

I guess the toes are so well detailed they seem more numerous than they are. When I first saw the art piece, I thought it was a guy with a bunch of giant veins popping from his back. It's good to know it's something far more absurd. I can't see his teeth so I'm not so sure about the "bite" in this. It's nice that you can see all the creases on his body.

SpamClamberton responds:

That's because rechabite is a word and has nothing to do with biting.

My introduction

I was introduced in the Slender Man simply because he was a popular character on the Internet. I will have to say this may be the least of the drawings you have made. I guess it doesn't help that I know nothing about this character. In fact, in terms of the Slenderman Mythos, I really don't know anyone except the title character. This still had its good points especially with how good the shading turned out to be. Is this person supposed to be a monster like the Slenderman?

I guess it's probably just makeup. What I wanted to see in this was some tension being built up. It just seems like too much of a mundane picture from a person like you. It seems like it would have been better to maybe put in the Slenderman in the background or have the character go into some dark corridor. At least you're consistent with those claw hands.

Just fantastic!

Dude, you are simply one of those people who can never do wrong with an art piece! This is absolutely fantastic because there is so much detail put into everything. You seriously must have the most messed up dreams to come up with stuff like this. I think the thing that makes this so effective is how the faces are black and white. It's almost as if they are crying out to be surrounded by the color around them. Some of the faces are similar and they are all yelling out in pain.

It's like this colorless mounds of flesh are just melting everywhere. Even the rainbow colors in the background have a dark overtune to them. Everything is just twisting around into this mad world of color and lack of. If Bill Hicks was a painter, he would probably come up with dark stuff like this. The faces seem to even be draining down to the bottom.

Too sweet

I guess the reviews will always have higher ratings than the actual score. This is a great piece because it has just such a wonderful sense of insanity to it. I would love to see this story arc be put into a flash cartoon or at least a webcomic. The most frightening feature is easily how the monster extends its jaw like that. Some things are unclear like the wounds on the woman, but the macabreness of it more than makes up for it. I love how authentic all the coloring is in this.

Another great effect was having all of those words written in the side of the pictures. You are keeping up with the twisted hands which never fail to be scary. I love all the pauses you put in your description to create tension. It seems like you could become more of a full length book writer if not a flash maker. 2011 looks to be a great year for you!

How cruel

This is one of your more twisted creations, but not one of your best. I guess the problem is that the character kind of comes off as more annoying than scary. At least you keep your consistent artstyle with the sharp claws and everything. This could also use a background. I think some of his hands are not fully shaded in, although that may have been intentional. The shaved head reminds me of Germaine from "Neurotically Yours".

It's interesting to see how awkward and out of whack his body is. As usual, every part of his body comes out in twisted proportions. The silhouette on the left side doesn't even look like him. I think this may have been the first time you wrote a summary in your author's comments in the style of the character. It didn't really make him more interesting.

linda-mota responds:

Yea i'm not happy with this design, I'm thinking of giving him no hair and changing the wardrobe completely. He's not a scary character, he's more of a "nagging conscious" or someone that throws the obvious in your face when you don't want to deal with it. This is more of a character practice sheet and the shadows (the one with longer hair) is him as he "changed". But i digress...The hand color got messed up during the editing but that's my fault. I SHALL IMPROVE THIS MINOR CHARACTER! I THANK THEE FOR THE HELP! :D

Dark and interesting

This was an extremely elaborate piece because it was just so frightening. I guess it was supposed to be a metaphor for how men are different from women. Both of their brains seem to be missing to show how foolish they have been. The man's face is particularly well done because he still keeps his tongue and neck bones even though he misses his lower jaw. I love the blood stain the woman gives him to show how he has been tainted. Whatever the metaphor, this was nice to look at.

There are just so many features in this. The best is probably the little red dots that are hard to see at first, but appear more obvious later. I also liked the colors and shadings produced by the blue parts that appear to be drops of water on the canvas. Every part of their bodies that does exist is drawn realistically. Let us not make this nightmare a reality.

DeadOnStudios responds:

brainless indeed :P.... Thanks for the comment, I like how you noticed that they both were missing the tops of their heads, it is a metaphor inside a metaphor :)

How twisted

Trust me, with all the atheism around, this is the least sacreligious thing out there. This was totally cool because there was a good variety of monsters in this. As usual, you keep your clawed hands which are shown to be really effective in the dark. It looks like the zombie Santa might have blood on this hands from wounds Christ received on the cross. Of course, you could not really hold yourself up with those wounds. The elf and the nutcracker look especially evil.

It was great to submit this right around Christmas time. It's important to be topical with the stuff you work on. The zombie Santa has perhaps the widest range of colors on him. One eye is engulfed by purple and the other is taken over by darkness and has a laserlike appearance. The candy canes were a great touch, too.
