That is mechanical

It is harder for me to write a review for submissions that are so short and are not even songs. I can not blame you because you at least tried to make something original. In fact, I can see this type of sound being made into remixes and stuff. It does a really good job of showing what you would expect to hear from a sentient machine. It might even be popular as a sound effect used in a game, like with M-Bot. It is not even an irritating sound, as it is at least something you can get used to hearing.

Rig responds:

Hey thanks, glad you think they work well :)

It got better

I was at first thinking was this was one of the lesser songs here, but it got better as it went on. Now that I am listening to it again, I am learning to appreciate it more. What is most important is that you manage to change the pace of the song for the good of it. A lot of submissions here do not have lyrics, but it seems like you short of made a compromise. It was also nice of you to list all of the things you did to make this song. I believe the main emotion this song gives off is fear or creepiness.

GunstarGreene responds:

Thanks dude, I was working with limited resources when I made this - didn't really spend my time well or organize the track to my approval, but if a few people dug it, that's cool. Thanks for the genuine review, I'm glad it grew on you.

Lyrics?

I found it a bit odd that something entirely instrumental would even have lyrics. This was still a very fun song to listen to, due to the fact that it was so, well, smooth. It seems like something that would show up in a cowboy or Clint Eastwood movie. It is not a song that makes you think of action, but rather one that makes you think of tension. It is always interesting to have different ways of approaching genres. It was an interesting way to experiment with your creativity here.

Sikanth responds:

thanx a lot for ur input... that is the intention, i put lyrics there coz i want people to have their own tune for the song in their mind.... and then i'll put the song later and see peoples reactions :D

All on your own?

I was quite impressed by the fact that you were actually able to make this on your own! The voice and insruments sound like something that a professional would make. It has been awhile since I have heard the harmonica being played. I like the sternness of your voice and how frank it is. It may not have the most memorable of lyrics, but it is interesting to find out how you made a story with this song. It just has a really homey, country feeling to it that is rare in audio submissions around here.

imjeffhip responds:

yeah it's all our own stuff, made from scratch, thanks man!

Never gets old

Here on Newgrounds, it has been awhile since I saw (or heard) anything related to Numa Numa, so this was a very refreshing blast from the past. Now, my only complaint is that I do miss having the actual lyrics here. It is still great how you manage to keep all the fantastic music in this form. Game Boy is one of our fondest memories of childhood, so by combining it with a internet meme makes it awesome. It makes me think about someone making a Numa Numa game. This is a very fun song.

BadCommandCo responds:

Thanks :). I suppose some vocoder vocals would have been an interesting idea.

Very good

Yeah, I recognize those vocals as being from the actual show. I used to watch this show all the time, although there was a point where I did kind of get tired of it, but it's still a good memory. Anyway, this was great because you took a song that is great in its own right. With new styles being added to this, it's difficult to find things wrong with it. It gives off a good feeling of action, but at the same time some pleasantness. I love your work on the guitar as it is simply done in a wonderful matter.

TheFabs responds:

Well thanks!

One of the best!

I loved listening to this song and I think it is one of the best that I have reviewed in awhile! I really love how it does not really stick to one theme, but really goes over the place. I had no idea what was going to happen next, and it was a great example of telling a story in a song. It is the kind of thing that could be made into a really great flash. This is at least great to listen to on its own and I liked the variety of instruments being used. It is obvious that this took a lot of time and effort to create.

YouriX responds:

Thanks man! I am glad that you liked it so much beacuse i did went thru alot just make this one. But i cant say i did it alone shooting star did a wonderfull job composing it!

Tom helped you?

You must be pretty glad he helped you, as he was nice enough to rank this pretty high in terms of his favorites. This has been used in a lot of things, but I have not heard of any of them. I kept thinking it was trying to be like "Sonic the Hedgehog" because of the icon you had on your profile. Anyway, while I could not pick out the exact references to Newgrounds, it was still great. It was nice to talk about it in the very beginning and then go on to a really adventerous part. The different styles show off the site's uniqueness.

PaulyBFromDa303 responds:

LOL Tom really has this in his favorites? I would like to talk to him again, perhaps a Newgrounds gettogether that I've heard they have, once I get money to do such a thing lol.

But yeah these were hard times for me. I was constantly getting my account hacked by some doucher, changing my username and password. So I had asked Tom to reset it for me. Once I had it back this guy kept trying to harass me about it, little did I know that this was a guy I THOUGHT was my friend . . . fucked up.

Anyway, Thanks for the review. lol This is something I gotta see

You and the truth

I could easily see this being made into a YouTube video that would get a ton of views. At first, I thought this was audio taken from "Full Metal Jacket" or something. It was apparently something that you simply made on your own and I am glad for it! This is quite impressive for not just what you are saying but how you say it. It really does seem like something that a professional rapper might make. It becomes personal because it turns a catchy song into a social statement.

linez responds:

thanks you,and i wish i could take credit from that speech but it was from alex jones a man that is speakin out against the fake.check him out on you tube.

Slow?

I was not bothered by the fact that this was a little slow at first, as that seemed to be part of its charm. With that having been said, this was a great song to listen to. Even in softness, you still manage to give off a lot of emotions. It does take off after awhile when it has more action sounds, but it still manages to keep its message. It is a triumphant piece of music that can keep its goodness throughout the whole run. It is pretty creative, even if it does probably need a little more variety at the beginning.

AudioVision responds:

Yeah sorry about the "slowness warning" in the description. I was just getting a lot of complaints that it was slow in the beginning.. i personally didn't have a problem with it.
Anyway, thanks for the review! I like this piece... it's a good display of my work :)
