I thought this game was okay. I have played games like this before and this didn't come off as good because the graphics weren't done as well. Yet again, I can't really expect stuff that good for what was made in a 72 work time. I also wished there could have been some music. Having a completely silent game is rarely a good idea. It does have somewhat of an interesting premise.

It's weird, because sometimes I can't tell where I can move. I assume I can just move everywhere, but I could have sworn there were some times where I couldn't go to some blocks for some reason. It's nice to have a wide open range too. I do wish there could have been more detail. It's certainly difficult enough.

Thanks for the review, Ericho! In fact, we did have some AP music in the game. Maybe it was a problem with Flash player, or maybe your speaker. As for the movement of the units, it should be possible for the units to move to any neighbouring square (except blank squares, but those are never highlighted). If you could not move it to a neighbouring square, it's probably a bug. Can you give me some more information so that I can fix it?

I wasn't expecting this to be that good at first. It was mostly because I couldn't control anything in this game! At least I'm glad you made it so that you can control the direction of where the plant grows. It's nice that you have a game that's fairly clear cut. What I didn't like about this was that I felt it was a bit too hard with how the leaves went down after one touch. Of course, that would have made the game too easy.

Besides, I didn't even die when doing that. I do appreciate the graphics on this game. Again, it's impressive how you managed to make this in a relatively short amount of time. You really don't know what to expect with these games that have shown up in this month's game jam. This was just well done.

Thanks alot! You're a legend at reviewing stuff :)

This was a really strange game. At first, I thought I would get the hang of it, but I didn't. What made it difficult is that the instructions themselves popped up at bad times and were blocking part of the game. That way, it was hard to follow through in terms of what was going on. At least you managed to have some good graphics. I'm actually surprised this took such a short time to make. It was also a tad too talky.

I think this may be the first submission I've ever seen that had the word "Zelda" in it and had nothing to do with the video games. At least the sounds and everything else are nice and sync up well. We've truly gotten some unique games this NG game jam. At least other people enjoyed this.

MonoFlauta responds:

Well, yes it was, we couldn't make everything so perfect for it, sorry about it, but we did our best in 3 days.

About the "Zelda" yes, this game is something unique LOL

Thanks for the review!

I believe this game is, as many people believe, the best in the series. What really struck me as cool about it was how it was so creative. I really have never played a game like this before. It was a bit strange to play a game where you were supposed to fall down somewhere. The music was also really cool and had a great funky beat. The way the slime throws his food up reminds me of the Achievement Unlocked game.

Wait, in that game, I think the elephant pooped stuff up, not threw them up. I didn't know there were games that were made in 72 hours for this. No wonder it's better than nearly everything else! It's simply a pleasant and very enjoyable game. It did get a bit darker when you could die, though.

MintPaw responds:

Thanks man, great review, I'm always inspired by Achievement Unlocked and jmtb02's other work.

Well, this game was fairly poorly designed, but there was no way I could hate it. It was when of the simplest games I could play that had medals. Yes, that is shallow, but it's not terrible at least. I thought the music used was decent and I appreciated you wishing someone a happy birthday. Again, it could use a lot of work with the graphics. Of course, it probably wasn't meant to be anything that good.

You should make it so that your goals are not layed out so easily. You should have a bunch of harder stuff to do like fight enemies or something. The single blue block guy wasn't much of a colorful touch, either. At least this is a harmless game. Just try to work on more detail next time.

makehimanoffer responds:

no problem man. was rushing to do it before the end of a person's birthday ya see. may make a more indepth one soon.

This game wasn't that well detailed, but I honestly didn't think it was that bad. Hey, this is from a guy who wasn't able to win a single medal on this. What I like is how it seems like most of the time you just automatically have the ball go in the hoop when it should. Basketball games should be like that. That being said, I still think this should have had a lot better graphics. At least it's not annoying.

You could have also put some music in it. The sounds that were there were actually pretty good. I guess it helps that I like shooting hoops in my spare time. It's becoming more of a habit lately. I'm glad I'm a guy who actually enjoyed this.

NoLanLabs responds:

I'm glad you enjoyed it too. i'm kind of a casual bball player from time to time myself, so that's kind of what I was going for. Music would have been great, but I just ran out of time - this was for a contest that ends today. but thanks for the review! you're awesome.

As expected, here's another great game from Jimp. It was funny, because it really didn't look that appealing at first. It was weird how you couldn't skip the opening cutscene. Then again, I guess most video games are probably like that nowadays. I appreciate your talent and creativity in this. It truly is the first game I've played where you had to protect animals by covering them in bubble gum.

It was nonsensical, but tons of fun. I wasn't expecting the flashier parts like the portals. It's also probably the first game I've played where you played a snake that threw mice around to help animals. It's truly bizarre, but it's so well done with the graphics and controls, it really works. I didn't even know you made games like this.

Jimp responds:

Thanks a lot for the review! you can actually skip the intro sequence by clicking :)

Wow, that was one weird game. I think the craziest thing about it was that I couldn't even tell what part of the screen I was supposed to not fall into. The blackness of the background looked exactly like the floors in the game themselves! That did make it pretty interesting. The use of buttons was an interesting bonus. It really is the fifth level (well, you fall through the fourth one) where you meet your girlfriend.

I thought there were just going to be another five levels after that, but it was a lot longer. It's amazing how challenging this game can be when there isn't much detail. It's a nice little game. I really like the music too. There isn't much going on, but it was good enough to like.
