I thought this was a pretty interesting game, because it was nice to see how so many people had different things to put on the table. What I didn't like is that some of the levels were just mediocre. Of course, there's pages of these things, so it always helps to keep on going. I think the graphics are all around good. It reminded me of the stuff by Nitome. I knew those guys had made so many games people had made stuff similar to their material.

I think the name is pretty cool too. It's not as good as many other customizable games, but it's still creative. You really have to mess with the level to get past it some times. Many times I just play with the controls and see what happens. I like the robot protagonist.

GreenPixel responds:

Thanks for the props! We usually come up with a quick name and then over time we get used to it and it becomes the actual name. Glad you liked it!

I liked this a lot, if only because I'm so good at it. It's not one of those bullet hell things where it's just things being fired at you from all sides. That doesn't mean there isn't a fair amount of dodging in this game. I appreciate the graphics. You deserve your Daily Feature, if only because you made a pretty addictive game. I was afraid at first that I would die if I touched the pathways the ships come, but that didn't happen.

The enemies are designed very well. I like how there's a lot of things going on in this, but it's still fairly easy to understand. It's just good old fashioned games where you shoot everything up. The sounds are good and everything syncs up well. It's amazing how this website keeps pumping out great games.

Thank you.

And you've totally nailed what we were going for, some times it's nice to just have a game where you don't have to think too much, just dumb simple fun.

When I came across the fairly low score in this game, I thought it was going to be something cheesy. I was of course pleasantly surprised to find out it was anything but. I think the best thing about this is how the graphics look so nostalgic. You just seem to really reckon back to the older days of the website. This looks so much like the ones used in Tom Fulp's original "Pico's School" game. My favorite level is the Death Chase.

That's probably because it's the only one I could win and the only one where I didn't get dead at the end. I like how there are many great references to classic NG games. In the end, that's really what Pico Day is all about. The sound effects and music are nice too. I know it's kind of late (and too early for this game) but Happy Pico Day!

You're an awesome reviewer :)

Okay, I don't want to just complain about how hard it is to get a single medal, but that is annoying. What makes things worse is that I don't even know how to advance when the part of the level is up. I can't make the jump that goes all the way to the next level or whatever it is. I still have to give you credit for having pretty cool graphics. You guys should realize you can only jump across a spike pit once. It may look like you can make it, but you can't.

I had no idea this character was even a girl! Then again, when the pixellation is that low, it can be hard to tell. I appreciate the decent music. I can see how this would be appealing to bigger fans of yours. Oh, and happy ludumdare24!

AdventureIslands responds:

If you mean how you can't reach the little island with the house after clearing the first dungeon, note that there is a pushable block nearby you can use.

This is a very interesting puzzle game. It's amazing how cocky you can get and not advance to the next level. While there wasn't a lot of detail, it made up for that in terms of how cool and complicated it was. It's great to have so much mobility and be able to jump across from the walls and everything. It also helps that the music is nice and fun to listen to. I had no idea there were going to be zombies in this.

Zombies of course make everything better. I like how you got a good picture of everything on the level. It gives you a lot of room to make way for ideas. It probably could be a bit more detailed, but still very nice. I never knew co-operation in a game like this could be so complicated. I guess you could beat it with two players.

ThomSip responds:

thanks for the review, and yes the game is a lot easier when playing with 2 players

This stuff is nicotine, dude! I have been playing this freaking game for hours and it's amazing how I can never get tired of it! I think the best part is probably how the monsters are so wonderfully designed. It's great to see all this crazy stuff going on. It broke my heart on that one level with the black dragon, I managed to beat every enemy and even had the dragon down to a fourth of his health and I still lost! I have no clue why this isn't the #1 spot on the all time best.

The music is fantastic, completely flawless. I love how there's such a great attitude of adventure and everyone looks like they're having fun. Well, the characters in the game I mean. I'm certainly having as much fun as them. Most of the time I get medals without even knowing what I'm supposed to be doing. It all adds up to a fantastic, flawless game, friend!

tempalabs responds:

Thank you for your encouraging comment :)
Hopefully this game not doing you any harm like nicotine :D

Well, I guess some people might appreciate it for how challenging it is. The problem is that it's just too challenging. I don't think I've ever played a game before you didn't even have your mouse onscreen. At least I can give you credit for making something original. It's just that it's hard to enjoy something that's so difficult. If anyone is able to get all these medals (I know nijsse is), then that guy is a genius.

The colors weren't that good either. Now, what little graphics there were weren't that bad. I guess it wasn't supposed to be that detailed, it was just meant to be something quick and silly. You certainly succeeded in that goal. I guess it's an alright little game.

Kolumbo responds:

Dude can you review all my flashes?

I enjoy reading your reviews.

I have to admit, I wasn't expecting much of a show seeing as how everything looked so simplistic. I was pleasantly surprised to find out this really was cool! You'd think at least one of those medals would be easy to get on my first run. It was really interesting how there were so many things going on and you had to be so precise with everything. Zombies are for any time of the year, I guess. I actually thought this was kind of cute.

I like the notion of you having a girlfriend whom you always stick by no matter what. A cage is going to work just as well as anything else, I suppose. I guess there could have been some more detail, but it's still very nicely done. The music is pretty cute and gives a nice homey feel to the game. We'll do anything for our girlfriends.

krangGAMES responds:

Well, the "These Heads" medal is pretty easy to unlock. Happy you enjoyed the game!

For the most part, it was just a weird game. It seems weird to make a game like this when it's the middle of Spring. Then again, maybe you come from some part of the world where it's snowy at this time of year? I was disappointed to find out that you had no real means of defense here. It was still fun, because the graphics were great. Everything was nicely detailed, even if it looked silly.

I think it would have been better if you could have richoted the snowballs onto your opponents. It just seemed weird that the scores would be so high. The #10 spot has a score of over a million while the #11 spot has 100,000. Error, perhaps? It also helps that the music is nice and it helps you along the way.

ItsTheAshtray responds:

Thanks, nice review. Yeah it is weird releasing this so late. In my defense, I finished it in early February and had some issues finding a sponsor. Turns out I had a lot of design flaws (the high score mode was almost non-existent at that point!). But Tom here was awesome enough to give me some tips and go for a sponsorship. Three cheers for Tom!

Wow, I really like this game because of the awesome atmosphere. You really get the notion that you're in a truly, strange, dark world. I love how the animation makes it look like it takes place in some olden time with how it looks to be created from an old film. It's kind of annoying how there's only one medal which happens to be a secret one. Still, this is about having fun with the game of course. While not a fan of point 'n click adventure games, this is still quite appealing.

It mostly works because the music is so good contributing to the atmosphere. This makes you appreciate the uniqueness of this world. The colors are very nicely done in this too. All of the little objects are so nicely organized. It's the kind of game you can spend a lot of time on and have fun.

Hyptosis responds:

Thanks for taking the time for the thoughtful feedback. Stay cool man.
