At first, this game didn't seem like any fun. I didn't think the graphics were that good. I really did get better with this as I watched more of it. I appreciated all the submissions. I'm normally not into that sort of thing, but it was easy to understand at first. I even like the little jumping sound that appeared.

I appreciate how you really did make a nice land to explore. I thought the hearts represented your health. You really just die in one hit. It reminded me of the Donkey Kong games. In fact, a lot of the games I've been playing lately remind me of that.

Munguia responds:

Im glad you liked the game Ericho, thanks for your words i love Donkey Kong Too
:)

Well, I really can't say this is too bad or good. It is quite easy to understand. The problem is that it comes off as too cutesy. There should probably be more detail in it. I guess I was just looking for some enemies in this. It seemed a bit too pleasant. Well, I haven't seen how gruesome it is when I'm killed by spikes.

You don't get a medal for going past the opening part. I guess there's nothing too bad about it. It doesn't really have bad game mechanics or anything. It is just quite mediocre. There are more unique games to look at.

SirNightOwl responds:

I think I acheived the look I was going for, might not be everyone's taste :) This was my first game and in a way a 'prototype' for how to do quest type objectives in a platformer, which isn't too common imo, but my next game will be much more elaborate. Thanks for the review! :D

At first, it was really hard to understand. I really didn't know what was going on. I understood it more as it went along and then I looked at the title. I suspected it was about that, but the title pretty much confirmed it. I guess I wish this game was longer. Then again, that may have been the point.

I am associated with this because my grandfather and grandmother had it. It's interesting how you get to figure it out. It did make me feel pretty sad. It looks like it won't have a happy ending. Okay, you people should seriously know what I'm talking about here.

dylan responds:

"At first, it was really hard to understand. I really didn't know what was going on."

I feel like that's how it must be in real life as well.

I actually ended up really liking this. I think "10 enemies" refers to ten different enemies. I really appreciate all the hard work put into making this. It seems like there was a lot of detail. While not too colorful, still very good. I was afraid you'd have to collect all the coins to advance. I'm glad you don't.

I also like how your health can be replenished level after level. It's still pretty difficult. I had no idea slime could kill you in a game like this. It kind of reminds me of something like "Blue Ball Machine" with how small everything looks. That's a good way to show off detail.

CTincknell responds:

Thanks! I changed the description to say "10 distinct enemies" now :P

I tried to make it easy to die if you make a bunch of mistakes, but easy to recover from one or two mistakes. Hopefully the difficulty feels balanced.

I didn't know this was actually going to be a game where you played blind, literally. I guess I did like how it was quite different. Of course, I'd have to look at a good tutorial to really get the hang of it. The cutscenes probably would have helped me. It's hard to be motivated to watch them, when there are no medals for this game. I can see why the high scores seem to be so low.

Wait, what this an April Fool's Day joke? Nah, it's too serious for that. It really is quite a unique game. I do recommend this, if you can look past how weird it is. The music's pretty good, too.

Evil-Dog responds:

Medals are coming...but I have to say, you have to be quite the medal whore to only be motivated to play a game or watch cutscenes only if there are medal-carots at the end of the stick, that's just troubling. What happened to just playing games cause they're fun?

I remember the original version of this game which said it was the best ever. Hmm, suddenly the date makes more sense. I appreciated the, uh, joke. I didn't care much for how simple it was. I will say that this game's entire existence was well played. I did, however, know what I was getting into.

It's hard to get absorbed into it. Since it's a joke game, there's not that much I can say. I do like how the description is in Caps Lock to better emphasize its insanity. It is an insane game, I'll give you that. Happy April Fool's Day!

Mockery responds:

WAIT... TODAY WAS APRIL FOOLS' DAY!?!? SO *THAT'S* WHY EVERYBODY THINKS THIS GAME IS A JOKE! WHOOPS! I SHOULD HAVE WAITED UNTIL APRIL 2ND TO RELEASE IT! DAMN IT! THAT'S 20 YEARS OF INTENSIVE GAME DEVELOPMENT WORK DOWN THE DRAIN! OH WELL, THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK... I'LL SPEND ANOTHER 20 YEARS ON A SEQUEL AND HOPEFULLY BY THEN I'LL REMEMBER TO NOT RELEASE IT ON APRIL 1ST. GOOD GRIEF! LOLOLLOL!!!

I'm surprised at how much I could get into this! I have gone through depression in my life, so that came off as neat. I am glad you were able to go into so many people's psyche. The music is really good too. I just enjoy the atmosphere. It probably could take place in the deepest part of my mind.

Maybe not too deep, the images aren't that complicated. You really knew how to tell a story here. I appreciate how complicated it could be even though the design was simplistic. This really is one of the better examples of that. It even reminds me of when I used to play piano. I'm glad to have played this.

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Wow, thanks!
I actually haven't gone through depression myself, but I know several people that have been/are suffering from it D:

It pleases me to see that I succeeded in creating the athmosphere, since I personally love the "psychological" games bet myself :3

And yes, I'm fully aware that my art/animations aren't top notch. I still think I did okay though, but it could be much better :p

It's good that you enjoyed my game, and thanks again for the review!

I was quite impressed by this. I was in no way expecting a game that about zen philosophy. It really is a unique kind of thinking that isn't discussed much here. I appreciate all the details put into everything. It was pretty hard at first, but then I learned to, well, concentrate. You can really hold onto the ends of the cubes.

It reminds me of something similar in the Gex games. I just love the wide open space you create for the player. I can see why this is fairly popular. It's interesting to have a game that teaches meditation. It's quite a learning experience.

zenmasters responds:

This comment show me that we did right thing when publishing this game. Thank you for that Ericho : )

I found this to be a good game. It was a bit annoying, but eventually I got the hang of it. I really liked the music. It seemed to have a good amount of variety to it. So did the actual game. There was certainly a lot going on here.

The main character looks like a Sesame Street character. I guess it's just the way he sounds. I was afraid that you wouldn't be able to switch direction in mid air, but you could! Thank you for being easier than I thought. I didn't even know you could fall off the screen too.

Denver2003 responds:

Thank you!

I have come to admit that this really is a creative game. Even if I can't get past Level 3, I appreciate what it really is. I like how the few designs you do have are quite good. I even like the little sounds made when you properly align the nodes. That's a funny word, node. The music was fairly good too.

I've always been impressed at how hard something can be that looks so simple. It's hard to say you should improve on this. I'm impressed at the variety. It really is more creative than it seems. All in all, a good game.

EggysGames responds:

thanks a lot Ericho :)
