This was a decent game. It took me awhile to notice that my movements were synchronized with that of the enemies. It's still pretty hard to tell exactly how that works. For the most part, I can get used to it. It's nice to have a game where you can really go at your own pace. It may not be that rewarding, but still.

It helps that the music is quite ambitious. It's been too long since I've reviewed an audio submission. I think the overall design is pretty good. It moves pretty solidly. While not great, I'd recommend it.

Sweet you discovered it yourself. One of the greatest feeling as a gamer, and that's why I preserved the tutorial as minimal as possible but if one wants more details they check out How To at the title screen

I didn't know there would be another game jam, but this seems quite appropriate. What I like most is how simple it is. That makes sense, seeing as how it was itself made in a short time. I like how soothing the music was. I had no luck trying to find the right person. I played a girl, so maybe that's why?

I don't really know what those yellow dots are supposed to mean. Are they children you accidentally give birth to? They disappear once you touch them. I guess you could say love literally hurts, or rather, a lack of it. Oh wait, I just realized you can also play as a boy.

keybol responds:

Great! That's one way I see it can be interpreted. Or the dots can be experiences you will treasure or learn from. The game has an ending, just hold left mouse for a long time, you'll notice it immediately.

I admit that the premise and execution is done pretty well. There are of course parts that are just too complicated to complete. It really does drag the fun out of it. Not to mention getting on par is really hard. At least I can do that in the early levels. The sounds and desgns are good.

I guess I can't recommend this game, but if you're really good at it, great for you. I like this crazy world you have created for the player. I wish I knew what "Pandesal" meant. It was nice to see this on the front page. It's quite well done, if very hard.

kikill responds:

Thank you for giving this exception Ericho to review a game one more time! I think you gave a fair opinion. But I grew up playing Mario and dreaming of one day making a similar world. So my first intention was to make something for platforming hardcores. Forty odd beta testers later, I realized I needed to soften the difficulty and did so with a lot of reluctance. In the end there is a limit to how easy I can allow the game to be. So it became what it is.

Thank you for appreciating the other aspects of the game. We did this with a lot of love. ^^

And btw, "Pandesal" is breakfast bread in our country. It's Spanish in origin I think, literally translated in English as "bread with salt".

It was really hard to understand this game, but I still loved it! I think it's just because I love how this thing is paced! There is so much going on and it's so much fun. Yes, there's a part that I can not advance. I really like how you fight in this. While the quality is low, it really does look like you're doing a lot.

You have to just wait before not killing the third guy. It sure is easy to annoy those guards. I was thinking the burgers gave you powers to fight them, but I guess not. The music is great too. It's just a very nice layout.

kokos0102 responds:

Thanks for your review. The burgers do give you power if you have money to buy them or you've lost energy before.

I was able to get pretty good control with this game, but I had a really low score. I had like negative 2,600! It wasn't that I couldn't play it, I could! I eventually gave everyone the right food, but I could get no positive points! I guess it's just way too hard for me. As I've said a million times before, it's inevitable simple looking games will be really hard.

I appreciated the music. The graphics, while not that well detailed, were still quite nice. Their cries sure got annoying. I was able to beat the level but still got less than nothing. Not something I'm going to revisit, but not bad.

robotJAM responds:

ha I made that game about 5 years ago !!!

I guess you could say I'm too lazy to get into this game that much. I still appreciate it. I think the main character looks like a blue Deadpool. There really is a lot of complicated stuff going on. It's pretty hard to keep up. The worst thing is probably the long reloading time.

I really have to look at everything that goes on. It does have really good graphics. I liked the in game achievements and the medals for that matter. I think there could have been more open space. Headshots are always the best.

tedgaming responds:

Reloading time improves drastically over time until it's practically instant. Crouching (shift) will also increase reloading speed. When you feel up to you, give the game another go and only take in as much as you're comfortable with. There's a lot to explore but there's no need to explore it all right away =)

I am pretty bad at basketball in real life, so I also turned out to be pretty bad at it in a video game too. I really liked the simplisic graphics. I came up with a prety good strategy. You mostly just have to outrun him. You see, he really is a lot shorter (duh), so you have that advantage. Kim Jong Il was a fan of basketball too.

Let's hope this guy doesn't kidnap a movie director like he did. Or worse, kidnap a basketball player. It wasn't that well detailed, but that was not the point. The sounds were pretty good. I'm glad to know the politics behind all this.

DBuck-Eye responds:

I'm glad that you liked it!

I admit that the layout is fairly nice, but that's about it for this. It was hard to be interested in a game that had no sound or music. It's something you need in a game like this. As it's just the same screen, it comes off as boring. Don't get me wrong, this does have some good points. I think it actually is a pretty original concept.

I also like it how you can reset yourself over and over. It just doesn't have that much appeal to it. I guess the graphics are not bad. I don't think I played the original. I've played thousands of games, so it's hard to remember.

AlexHeaton responds:

Hey Ericho,

Good points, though I made this game years and years ago when it was far less common to have sound :)

Yeah, it was pretty easy to tell this was influenced by the Shark series. This is still pretty freaking awesome in its own right. I think the best part is how well the monsters are designed. There really are some unique enemies here. It helps that it's easier than the shark series, lol. The graphics are quite good.

Yeah, my medals automatically show up now! The music fit the mood quite well. It seems too late for a Halloween game, but I guess horror isn't limited to just one month. You probably could have some more design. The ground seems too bland.

DarkTimmy responds:

Hey thanks! Agree on what you are saying and you know what's strange? I didn't even think about the Halloween thing while I was making it! STRANGE!!!! I mean - it's totally Halloween themed but you're right - horror is always in style. hahah. I agree about the improvements. I see a million little things I would do better now. Thing is - it's now and not then. HAHAH! What I CAN do it make some notes with your feedback and the rest and put all that into Dan Devil 2! I think there is a lot of potential here and I hope people enjoy this for what it is! A fun diversion with some laughs. Thanks for the rating and the comment! I appreciate you and everyone who takes a moment to write something! Best, -Tim

I admit to being very confused by this. I could not understand how to get ahead. Thanks for the easy medal. I basically did nothing but wave the cursor around for awhile and that seemed to work out for me. I just left after becoming bored. A bit too late for zombies, eh?

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas as I certainly did. You just need to have actual graphics in your games. It is quite unique at least. I'm not a fan of these kinds of text games. Then again, I'm not even sure if this was one of them.

Kolumbo responds:

Oh man, look, I am updating the game in about 30 minutes with a better tutorial.

I am one of the most prolific reviewers on this website and even on the Internet! I am proud to be such a huge fan of this website!
