Well, this makes no sense. I have reached a point where I simply can not progress. I go across this one place that has this area I can't cross. I have no choice but to stay behind and die. I have tried outrunning it, but I can not do it. There must be something I am missing.

I can tell this didn't take too long to make. That's not a criticism, just an observation. What detail it does have is pretty nice. Is there some hidden switch I'm missing? I guess it's fine for something really quick.

    Zanzlanz responds:

Of course it didn't take too long to make; it was made in less than 48 hours for the Ludum Dare competition. It says it right on the title ;)

Anyway, it's completely possible! I've beat it a handful of times (albeit it was challenging), as has 80 people on Newgrounds and several of my friends in person. Hope you'll return to conquer the game!

BeminFire suggests telling you that you can wall jump. I didn't realize if that was what troubled you? Hope that helps!

I did not like this game. I think its biggest fault was how difficult it was. Well, the graphics were pretty bad too. I am glad to have played this Pico game. The artwork seems even older than a lot of the stuff made back in those days. I guess this was intentional.

It doesn't rank high with Pico games. I just had to keep on firing at the nerds and their shields almost never turned off. Is this supposed to be an actual nightmare? It sure was one for me. The music isn't bad, though.

    Lenke responds:

    hard?
you just have to wait to some bomb explode close to they, then you can shoot ...
most of people get it ... (? or not (?

I'm sorry, but I really thought the graphics were subpar in this one. It was weird how this came from this year, but looks so old. I was also confused as to why the Slender Man was there. It was cool to play a game featuring Jeff The Killer. He should be used more here. The music is truly haunting in this!

I don't know why this was frontpaged for Pico Day, but at least it's a cool game. He does look pretty scary. I remember how shocked I was when I first saw that face. This is a fairly good game.

    Lenke responds:

is weird, I had a pico game and they front paged this old game(3 months), at last they frontpaged my pico's game, so I have two games in the frontpage at the same time XD!!!

I was not that entertained by this game. It seemed like an awful lot of work just to get some medals. I couldn't really understand what the point of cheering or booing was. It seemed too complicated for itself. I would have preferred a more standard fighting game. There isn't much motivation to go on.

I do think that the designs are fairly good and it does seem like you were trying something different. I always appreciate that. It could just be more enjoyable. It seems like most people think this is okay, too. Those are my thoughts.

    DarkTimmy responds:

Totally agree. I think the only thing pushing a lot of people through are the medals. Overall the game is a nice idea with some flaw that hold it way back. The game just doesn't seem to engage too hard with the variety. I am thinking about a sequel with some tweaks and new modes. Maybe that will do it! Thanks for the comment too! Best, -Tim (check out my Boss 101 sequel if you want to see the latest - my Newgrounds blog has the deets)

At first, this game didn't seem like any fun. I didn't think the graphics were that good. I really did get better with this as I watched more of it. I appreciated all the submissions. I'm normally not into that sort of thing, but it was easy to understand at first. I even like the little jumping sound that appeared.

I appreciate how you really did make a nice land to explore. I thought the hearts represented your health. You really just die in one hit. It reminded me of the Donkey Kong games. In fact, a lot of the games I've been playing lately remind me of that.

    Munguia responds:

Im glad you liked the game Ericho, thanks for your words i love Donkey Kong Too
    :)

Well, I really can't say this is too bad or good. It is quite easy to understand. The problem is that it comes off as too cutesy. There should probably be more detail in it. I guess I was just looking for some enemies in this. It seemed a bit too pleasant. Well, I haven't seen how gruesome it is when I'm killed by spikes.

You don't get a medal for going past the opening part. I guess there's nothing too bad about it. It doesn't really have bad game mechanics or anything. It is just quite mediocre. There are more unique games to look at.

    SirNightOwl responds:

I think I acheived the look I was going for, might not be everyone's taste :) This was my first game and in a way a 'prototype' for how to do quest type objectives in a platformer, which isn't too common imo, but my next game will be much more elaborate. Thanks for the review! :D

At first, it was really hard to understand. I really didn't know what was going on. I understood it more as it went along and then I looked at the title. I suspected it was about that, but the title pretty much confirmed it. I guess I wish this game was longer. Then again, that may have been the point.

I am associated with this because my grandfather and grandmother had it. It's interesting how you get to figure it out. It did make me feel pretty sad. It looks like it won't have a happy ending. Okay, you people should seriously know what I'm talking about here.

    dylan responds:

"At first, it was really hard to understand. I really didn't know what was going on."

I feel like that's how it must be in real life as well.

I actually ended up really liking this. I think "10 enemies" refers to ten different enemies. I really appreciate all the hard work put into making this. It seems like there was a lot of detail. While not too colorful, still very good. I was afraid you'd have to collect all the coins to advance. I'm glad you don't.

I also like how your health can be replenished level after level. It's still pretty difficult. I had no idea slime could kill you in a game like this. It kind of reminds me of something like "Blue Ball Machine" with how small everything looks. That's a good way to show off detail.

    CTincknell responds:

Thanks! I changed the description to say "10 distinct enemies" now :P

I tried to make it easy to die if you make a bunch of mistakes, but easy to recover from one or two mistakes. Hopefully the difficulty feels balanced.

I didn't know this was actually going to be a game where you played blind, literally. I guess I did like how it was quite different. Of course, I'd have to look at a good tutorial to really get the hang of it. The cutscenes probably would have helped me. It's hard to be motivated to watch them, when there are no medals for this game. I can see why the high scores seem to be so low.

Wait, what this an April Fool's Day joke? Nah, it's too serious for that. It really is quite a unique game. I do recommend this, if you can look past how weird it is. The music's pretty good, too.

    Evil-Dog responds:

Medals are coming...but I have to say, you have to be quite the medal whore to only be motivated to play a game or watch cutscenes only if there are medal-carots at the end of the stick, that's just troubling. What happened to just playing games cause they're fun?

I remember the original version of this game which said it was the best ever. Hmm, suddenly the date makes more sense. I appreciated the, uh, joke. I didn't care much for how simple it was. I will say that this game's entire existence was well played. I did, however, know what I was getting into.

It's hard to get absorbed into it. Since it's a joke game, there's not that much I can say. I do like how the description is in Caps Lock to better emphasize its insanity. It is an insane game, I'll give you that. Happy April Fool's Day!

    Mockery responds:

WAIT... TODAY WAS APRIL FOOLS' DAY!?!? SO *THAT'S* WHY EVERYBODY THINKS THIS GAME IS A JOKE! WHOOPS! I SHOULD HAVE WAITED UNTIL APRIL 2ND TO RELEASE IT! DAMN IT! THAT'S 20 YEARS OF INTENSIVE GAME DEVELOPMENT WORK DOWN THE DRAIN! OH WELL, THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK... I'LL SPEND ANOTHER 20 YEARS ON A SEQUEL AND HOPEFULLY BY THEN I'LL REMEMBER TO NOT RELEASE IT ON APRIL 1ST. GOOD GRIEF! LOLOLLOL!!!
