How different

With all the zombie stuff going around, it's great that people still work on original stuff. Granted, I would probably want more of the traditional zombie shooting games. Hey, you guys catch the new season of "The Walking Dead"? As usual, it's great to see so many talented people collaborating on this. The artwork is probably the most admirable part. I really like it how there seem to be so many body movements going on.

The sounds and voices are really well done and authentic too. It's the kind of game you can spend all day as you can really experiment with it. While not the biggest fan, it's interesting to see a zombie pet/buddy game. I think that might be the first time I ever even saw that written (or typed) under Genre. It's great to see so many good details.

thanks for the detailed review dude, I'm sure gonna get those Walking Dead episodes :D

Mostly very enjoyable

What I find to be the coolest about this is how straightforward everything is. Dude, I think I rose the score from a 3.82 to a 3.94! That's got to be some record for me! This is a good game because the graphics are good and the medals make you want to continue playing. I thought that the third form was going to be the final, but there was even a fourth! The first and fourth are really the only ones where he seems to be actively attacking you.

All the other times, it's like there's just obstacles in your way. It's also great to have so many difficulty modes to interact with. At least I'm weak enough to get through the Easy mode, but held my own until Medium's third form. The music is nice and gives the player a good sense of being in a sci-fi world. I'm glad this got front paged.

Thx for the in-depth review and pushing the rating. :)

Should please fans

What I like the most about this is how good the graphics are. Graphics are generally not something you would care about in a game like this, but it shows you went the extra mile! I also think it's cool how you have that music going on, although it did get a tad annoying. It helps that I'm just really good at this game. It's great to see such a three dimenionsal use of graphics as the plate goes around. It's just fun to see those plates whirling around everywhere.

The thing that was annoying was how you had to work so much to get more money. It seemed like too big a leap with how everything became times ten. You still made a good game that would make people want to get more money. I don't know why you chose green, but it works very vibrantly. Looks like it'll be your only submission this year too.

Aprime responds:

Haha thank you! The graphics weren't that hard to do funnily enough. Actually they probably were, I made this so long ago haha!

I'm glad you liked the green, I tend to change the colour each version of this game. It just happened that this version was the one to be green.

Thanks for the review :)

Mostly enjoyable

This was a fairly interesting game to play because the gameplay was quite abstract. While the artwork wasn't that good, it was still entertaining to see this guy just fly around everywhere. The music and graphics remind you of classic old games. Granted, I don't think I've ever even played old games like that, just ones similar to it here on this website. The best thing is how the lasers go from one side of the screen to another.

I am glad you do not have to collect the ship parts for every level. I was a bit confused when I had done that and still hadn't completed the first level. It's great how you have good mobility and control over yourself. It could probably use some better coloring effects, because it looks a tad sloppy. It's still worth checking out.

Usually good

This was a good game, but its main problem was that it was rather incomprehensible. You have to touch the branch on the other half to get over the man (or should I say bunny) eating plant. It's amazing how I didn't figure that out at first. The music is great and it's interesting to see this world you created for yourself. It is weird how this game just seems to go on forever. The darkness makes it a little hard to see, too.

Of course, its dark appeal is what the game is supposed to be like. The graphics are certainly decent and it gives you a good sense of adventure. There are interesting things to see even though they make no sense to me. I somehow got a medal with 0 points. If you're a fan of surreal games, then check this out!

NightDead responds:

Thank you very much for the comments and suggestions.

Sorry about the medal, "The past always come back" ... is a medal test and was supposed to be secret, not even a real medal so it is not supposed to be discovered, HOWEVER I congratulate you find it.

regards

*sorry for my bad english

Don't be offended

I think the only reason a lot of people gave this a low score was because they were offended by it. Anyone who's seen a Doug Stanhope special would know that there's worse things than this. The weirdest thing is how there are missiles around. I don't recall there being missiles at the September 11th attacks. Then again, it's probably not supposed to be realistic. I appreciated the fact that someone submitted something on the tenth anniversary.

You would think more people would talk about it. The music and graphics in this game are not that bad. The main problems are that it is mostly just the same obstacles in your way over and over. Admittedly, it does get a bit of a change when it becomes a lot faster as you go down. The medals shouldn't be that easy to figure out.

Kevin responds:

Trust me, if the person who did the art of this wanted to be co-authored... This would have probably a million plus views now.

That's how big he is.

Not even BSing.

Seriously.

Not that bad!

When I first saw the blank background on the title screen, it didn't look like it would be that good. While not particularly good, it's at least playable. The best part was how you had so much mobility and were able to easily shoot the enemies down. I think there might be something wrong with the audio because it seems out of sync. For a demo, this actually wasn't that bad. Demos can be good if you really put time and effort into them.

I suggest you not make the main ship so small. There could have also been more detail in the background with perhaps some stars. I don't know why Patrick and Spongebob appear there, but they're still cool. Their sprites are actually really well done, just to bring that up. You could maybe also make a wider variety of villians.

metroidfannumber1 responds:

THANK YOU! jeeze, i thought it was impossible to get a little positive reinforcement here in newgrounds. okay, the ship being small is a bit odd and it could use some background i guess. as for spongebob and patrick... can't quite explain that one.

Very adorable!

It's a pity that this has such a low score, but hopefully that will change, giving it the score it deserves. This is as great as any other Nyan Cat tribute. It seems like you only get a medal every other time you upgrade. The last medal is easily the hardest because everything comes at you at once. It's cute to see these barnyard animals flying around in space for Nyan Cat's enemies. It's of course fantastic to hear that unforgettable neverending song.

I love how gracefully Nyan Cat flies across the screen. It gets its hardest when the animals start to become literally attracted to you. The level with the cows wasn't that hard because they didn't move and mostly didn't go to the bottom of the screen. Now I'm going to have that song stuck in my head all night. He does look funny with poop coming out of his bottom.

fortunacus responds:

actually this game got rating more than 3,6, but after 4 days uploaded there are 1000+ downvoter for this game

He did approve them!

This was a pretty interesting game because it had a very simple design to it. My biggest complaint is that it is annoying with how you have to move around so much to see the approaching meteors. At least the graphics are nice. I especially admire the music, which truly gives you a sense of being in a space adventure. Everything just sounds so ambitious in this especially with how the weapons fire. It's interesting how something so simple seeming can be fairly hard.

I suggest most people just go all around the planet to look for oncoming meteors. Be sure to immediately destroy them as soon as they come in sight. The way the planet becomes smaller might actually help you. It allows you to get a better look at what's coming on the other side of the planet. The controls work well, too.

MaTX responds:

Hi Ericho, thanks for your feedback!

Harder than I thought

I thought that with all these medals, it was going to be a really easy game. This is actually a lot harder than it looks, which I have to give you credit for. It is just amazing how these fruits can cause so much damage to you. The graphics are as good as any other game that is similar to "Duck Hunt". It makes me think there should be a "Duck Hunt" collection here. I love how the sounds are decent and it's so satisfying to shoot these clocks.

It's the kind of game that's hard to do with a laptop. A more flexible mouse seems to make more sense with this game. It's always nice to get upgrades, because it can be a pain when you have to reload. I never thought a game like that could be really challenging, but it was because you were damaged if so much as one of those guys escaped. Happy Clock Day 2011!

thinking-man responds:

Happy clock day to you too!
