This is a pretty cool game, but there's just one thing wrong with it. I can't advance onto the next level! When I'm done with the training session, all I can do is click "Replay" or "Quit". "Replay" does the training again and "Quit" sends me back to the menu where my only options are two levels of training! At least the graphics and character designs are fairly nice. The music is also quite appropriate.

I'm amazed you were able to make these games in such a short time. Of course, not all the stuff you submit was made right after you made another one, I suppose. This reminds me of the "Lemmings" games. I've never actually played them myself, but I've seen tons of tributes to them. Congradulations on front page too.

WilkinGames responds:

Thanks, dude. Actually, when you finish a tutorial level, you can switch between the training levels. I remember Lemmings as well, awesome game! :-)

I have played this before, but for some reason, I didn't review it. Anyway, I thought this was a fairly good game. What kind of weighs it down is high the graphics aren't that good. I do admire the fact that you made a game about inspiration. It seems like I've seen a lot of stuff about that lately. The sounds are pretty cute and it's a nice little premise overall with how adorable it is with the music notes.

I'm not sure if the medals are working properly. Anyway, it's a nice game for a short little run. I can always come back and try again. It's a pretty basic game, in that it follows the formula of most platformers, which are probably my favorite kind of game. It's an interesting little thing to take note of, pardon the pun.

Seagaia responds:

Thanks for playing and reviewing it. And for the pun :P

I liked this a lot, if only because I'm so good at it. It's not one of those bullet hell things where it's just things being fired at you from all sides. That doesn't mean there isn't a fair amount of dodging in this game. I appreciate the graphics. You deserve your Daily Feature, if only because you made a pretty addictive game. I was afraid at first that I would die if I touched the pathways the ships come, but that didn't happen.

The enemies are designed very well. I like how there's a lot of things going on in this, but it's still fairly easy to understand. It's just good old fashioned games where you shoot everything up. The sounds are good and everything syncs up well. It's amazing how this website keeps pumping out great games.

Squize responds:

Thank you.

And you've totally nailed what we were going for, some times it's nice to just have a game where you don't have to think too much, just dumb simple fun.

When I came across the fairly low score in this game, I thought it was going to be something cheesy. I was of course pleasantly surprised to find out it was anything but. I think the best thing about this is how the graphics look so nostalgic. You just seem to really reckon back to the older days of the website. This looks so much like the ones used in Tom Fulp's original "Pico's School" game. My favorite level is the Death Chase.

That's probably because it's the only one I could win and the only one where I didn't get dead at the end. I like how there are many great references to classic NG games. In the end, that's really what Pico Day is all about. The sound effects and music are nice too. I know it's kind of late (and too early for this game) but Happy Pico Day!

Spudzy responds:

You're an awesome reviewer :)

Okay, I don't want to just complain about how hard it is to get a single medal, but that is annoying. What makes things worse is that I don't even know how to advance when the part of the level is up. I can't make the jump that goes all the way to the next level or whatever it is. I still have to give you credit for having pretty cool graphics. You guys should realize you can only jump across a spike pit once. It may look like you can make it, but you can't.

I had no idea this character was even a girl! Then again, when the pixellation is that low, it can be hard to tell. I appreciate the decent music. I can see how this would be appealing to bigger fans of yours. Oh, and happy ludumdare24!

AdventureIslands responds:

If you mean how you can't reach the little island with the house after clearing the first dungeon, note that there is a pushable block nearby you can use.

This is a very interesting puzzle game. It's amazing how cocky you can get and not advance to the next level. While there wasn't a lot of detail, it made up for that in terms of how cool and complicated it was. It's great to have so much mobility and be able to jump across from the walls and everything. It also helps that the music is nice and fun to listen to. I had no idea there were going to be zombies in this.

Zombies of course make everything better. I like how you got a good picture of everything on the level. It gives you a lot of room to make way for ideas. It probably could be a bit more detailed, but still very nice. I never knew co-operation in a game like this could be so complicated. I guess you could beat it with two players.

ThomSip responds:

thanks for the review, and yes the game is a lot easier when playing with 2 players

This stuff is nicotine, dude! I have been playing this freaking game for hours and it's amazing how I can never get tired of it! I think the best part is probably how the monsters are so wonderfully designed. It's great to see all this crazy stuff going on. It broke my heart on that one level with the black dragon, I managed to beat every enemy and even had the dragon down to a fourth of his health and I still lost! I have no clue why this isn't the #1 spot on the all time best.

The music is fantastic, completely flawless. I love how there's such a great attitude of adventure and everyone looks like they're having fun. Well, the characters in the game I mean. I'm certainly having as much fun as them. Most of the time I get medals without even knowing what I'm supposed to be doing. It all adds up to a fantastic, flawless game, friend!

tempalabs responds:

Thank you for your encouraging comment :)
Hopefully this game not doing you any harm like nicotine :D

I have to admit, I wasn't expecting much of a show seeing as how everything looked so simplistic. I was pleasantly surprised to find out this really was cool! You'd think at least one of those medals would be easy to get on my first run. It was really interesting how there were so many things going on and you had to be so precise with everything. Zombies are for any time of the year, I guess. I actually thought this was kind of cute.

I like the notion of you having a girlfriend whom you always stick by no matter what. A cage is going to work just as well as anything else, I suppose. I guess there could have been some more detail, but it's still very nicely done. The music is pretty cute and gives a nice homey feel to the game. We'll do anything for our girlfriends.

krangGAMES responds:

Well, the "These Heads" medal is pretty easy to unlock. Happy you enjoyed the game!

I am one of the most prolific reviewers on this website and even on the Internet! I am proud to be such a huge fan of this website!
