Nyan Cat forever!

Probably the only reason I did not dislike this too much was because it had the adorable Nyan Cat in it! That guy seriously knows how to make every day brighter no matter what the situation. I am, however, starting to notice that it appears to be the same sprite in every game. It's been used so much I can't accuse you of plagairism. The best thing about this game was how simple it was. I guess toasters would be bad news for a pop tart cat.

You could have done more with the effects, especially with the way the lines moved. It's just hard to hate this cat in anything he is in. Try to have a wider variety of objects to avoid and to get. I liked how you could change the language into Nyan where nearly every word was "Nyan". Work harder and you can be more popular.

Troncat responds:

This is my first flash game lol but im no artiest but i made this for a class assignment and im also still making this game i just wanted to see what people said about it. i know i was beaten by most people who came out with this game just before me. Also i hate nyan cat fly its the most retarded game ever! i am making the rainbow follow him(working on that) and thank you guys for saying its too fast! i will make everything slower and gradually get faster! and do you think that i should add more toasters the further you get into it?

They're back!

This game was not as good as the first one, but it was still lots of fun. The coolest part was being able to run around everyone as the game gave you great mobility. The only real problem I had was that I did not know how to switch weapons. Those "bangers" were pretty cool weapons, if not the most effective. I love how you could never really die if you kept pressing the continue button. What happens is that you wake up from a dream only to fight the zombies in the real world.

I assume that you just keep waking up if you die over and over. It's especially funny to see the zombies slowly get their health drained as they blow up. I also loved how you put a car in it. It is easily the most efficient way to kill zombies, you just have to look out for the barrels. Speaking of which, I liked how they helped with killing too.

Jimp responds:

Press space to switch weapons, equip new weapons in the weapon select screen (you can only have 2 selected)

Very cool game!

I am surprised that this did not get any medals because it's very stylistic! The best part about it is how well the stick man moves around. He just has so much finesse and you rarely see that in games. At first I thought I would not like it because it was too easy, but it got harder as I went along. The coolest thing was how everything was synched up in such a specific way. You had to really wait for the right moments to move on with this.

The graphics are quite brilliant as well. The green teleporter thing at the thing especially gives off a really good glowing aura around it. My favorite kind of blocks would have to be the orange blocks because they really help you. It's not just because orange is my favorite color. The sounds are authentic as well and the music moves it along.

AmazingAdam4 responds:

If by medals you mean prizes/trophies then thanks. If not then I did put medals in the game but I believe they're still being approved so you'll have to wait and see. Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it.

I love Nyan Cat!

Well, what can I say? This submission is probably the best that has ever featured the one and only NyanCat. The only thing I did not like was that there was an advertisement every time you had to start the game over. It was just so adorable to play this little kitty cat and watch him fly over the Earth with that rainbow behind him. Even the happiness bars were cool. When he accidentally ate vegetables, he got this really angry red look on his face.

He should learn that vegetables are healthy. This is probably the closest I'll ever come to looking at Nyan Cat the longest time. It looks exactly like the original version and it has that great little sound to it. They have given us so many crazy cats on the Internet that I love so much! The picture of him at the end is realistic and a bit creepy.

krangGAMES responds:

Actually, while veggies are quite healthy for PEOPLE, Nyan Cat is of course a pop-tart kitty. He derives his nutrition from the sugar and wheat found in such wholesome foods as lollipops and cupcakes. So, from a Nyan-perspective, this game is a strong advocate of a healthy lifestyle! :D

Glad you liked the game :) The voice-acting is courtesy of my girlfriend (with the pitch cranked waaay up, of course), and the game-over art is by Kingaby, here's the deviantART link: http://kingaby.deviantart.com/art/Nya n-Cat-Timelapse-204841126?q=boost%3Ap opular%20nyan%20cat%20timelapse&qo=0

So many songs

The best thing about this was probably hearing all those cool Simpsons songs. Granted, I am actually not a Simpsons fan myself (though the movie was sweet!), they were great to hear. It actually seems as though you have improved in terms of graphics. The best example of this is when you show the level with Apu's store. It is also fun to go around and shoot the other Simpsons characters. I like how Maude turned into an angel as she is now dead.

In fact, that was actually because her voice actress demanded more money. I like the menu where Homer's eyes follow you the entire time. The graphics with him look quite good as well especially with how his face has a CGI feel to it. My biggest complaint is that I do not see the point of this being about Easter. At least I had a great Easter.

Aprime responds:

Hahaha, I can't remember why I bothered making an easter version.. this was made a good three years ago.
You can go check out version 4, which came out last month.
There are more levels and much better graphics
Go and review that, I enjoyed reading your viewing

Thanks for the review, dislike the 7 though... LOL

Sweet game!

This was a really cool game because I just had so much freedom to go around and do whatever I wanted. It helps that it was really easy. You just have to keep on firing at the enemies and the powerups are great! I was thinking I might have lost at the end because it seemed too easy to win like that. What can I complain about getting medals? Even if the game was easy, there are always more medals for me to go on and get.

The music was pretty standard too. I was thinking that at the end you would evolve into a mammal of some sort. It seemed to be more like a really big bug at the end. At least you did not have much idea what was going to happen next, be it enemies or what you would turn into. I am glad I got back to this for the third NG game jam.

MrRandomist responds:

thanks, the game wasn't play tested much during concept and we didnt have much time to keep going....what we have here is pretty much it we had the idea to evolve as a bug which was what our theme was (although the lions where kinda put to the side).....if we did a part 2 or a sequel of some sort it would be great to keep the evolution cycle going into these hideous looking mammals.

thanks for the extensive review.

Nothing too new or interesting

This was not a game I am a fan of, because I am not really into those Guitar Hero like games in the first place. What I didn't like was how the graphics were not that good. Pixellation can work but not when you are so close to the resolution like that. It also seemed a bit too easy as the arrow keys came at me slowly. I guess that's a positive, but it didn't make me eager to play the rest of the game. At least you have a fairly good variety of songs to choose from.

Congrats on having it be easy to get a lot of medals. That is to be expected when you have so many of them. I hope you had a Happy Pico Day and hope you are glad to have your game submitted to the Pico Day 2011 collection. I could have sworn I heard of you before with that logo. Please try to work on more detail next time.

EventHorizon responds:

thanks for your advice and for your review

Cut the spine?

I really couldn't understand what the appeal of this game was. In terms of dark comedy, I have nothing wrong with it. The stuff by the guys who make the dead baby dressup games are fairly good at it. The main flaw of this was that it was simply the same thing over and over. I have heard how abortions were performed and I did not find this as anything insightful. The music was also a bit annoying and it would have helped if you put on a mute button.

The drawing needs to be better with more shading and coloring. I think I was supposed to snap the spinal cord, but I didn't see anything that looked like bone. Then again, I'm no biology expert. I could have sworn I played a game like this before that might have been made by you. Please try to work harder next time.

Pickilow responds:

i likek illing them is that wrong

Those arenas!

This was a very interesting game to play because the graphics were done very well. It seemed like you really knew where you could go in your enivronment. The only downside is that the controls are a bit annoying. I can get used to them, but it becomes frustrating when I know I'm firing right next to some guys, but I guess I'm too close. It's still creative with all the environments Pico is in. I wanted to also say that this is the first Pico flash for 2011 I have reviewed today!

It also managed to be the first game on the front page and with medals! The music was decent and fits the urban mode of the game. It looks like we have a good enough logo for Pico Day this year as well. You just need to work on controls and not make it so hard to fire as it seems to be more precise than some games. At least it's fun destroying the enemies!

Torrunt responds:

I've added shooting someone while they're right next to you of my list of bugs and stuff to do. Hopefully that should be in the upcoming patch along with other fixes and tweaks.

Not bad, in fact I like it!

This was a good game because it was made with a fairly good amount of spirit. What was also neat was how cute the sounds and everything else really was. It was fun to just watch these little critters plop around the screen going from one place to another. While a bit difficult, it's of course something that you have to learn to get used to. It is not the most detailed game, but it doesn't have to be to be playable. The coolest thing was learning how each character's limitations helped you.

I don't know what these guys are supposed to be, but they're pretty cute. These guys kind of look like the claymation dudes from "Gumby". The music is also fairly cheery as well. It was interesting to throw in a level editor as well as custom made levels by users. It was also nice to have something to collect in the game.

Kenney responds:

Hah yeah, they DO look like Gumby characters :) Thanks for your review!
