Fairly entertaining

What was cool about this was just how ridiculous it managed to be. It was weird how you just had no idea what was going to show up next in terms of enemies. The animation kind of reminds me of the stuff by JeremyLokken. I find it strange taht FreeworldGroup does not credit this on their profile or here. The music is decent enough. The worst thing aobut it is the controls which were hard to understand. I think the problem was that I kept trying to press the mouse instead of the space button.

The aiming just seemed off with that. I could not understand the language, but I have played so many games here you really don't need to. It was funny to just watch the brown horse fly around. There were so many enemies it just did not seem to have an end in sight and got frustrating. It's still not bad and you have to mess with it at first.

ooh, good point, FWG have accepted my buddy request now so I've added them as a sponsor :-)

The engine I wrote for this game does actually support mouse aiming (it also supports n-level parallax scrolling, another feature we're not using here!); we may reuse it for another game, or maybe a reduxed version of this with powerups, stages, collectables, bosses et cetera

I have no idea why it's in French, really - we just thought it was funny!

Thanks for the review!

How to play?

Apart from the fact that the graphics are not good, I was really confused on how to play this. At least I was able to get the easy medal of failing. I would think you might get that for refusing to play the game, but you do not. It's funny how all of these medals are worth five points. Everything goes just fine until you reach the screen where you have to throw the bomb or whatever it is. I looked through the author comments and I could not find out what button to press to make it blow up!

I tried Space, Enter, everything and nothing worked! You could still work on the lines and shading because it's of pretty low quality. Then again, it probably would have not worked out well for me because I'm the kind of guy who would never kill babies anyway. Well, I am a fan of that Kitten Cannon game. Just make it easier, I guess.

Awesome game!

This was one sweet game because there was just so much going on! Let me also say that the powerup of those little guys absorbing the blows is probably the best powerup ever! I am so glad to be introduced to your style. The medals did not show up when I got them, but they did show up on my profile! The cybernetic voice was also really cool. I just love how there was such an amazingly good amount of colors and designs put into this.

There is always something going on and you really know how to prepare yourself for it. Don't think that a boss appearing is going to make the level end, especially as the game progresses. The backgrounds were simply flawless and showed great innovation in their designs. These kinds of games makes me proud to be an online gamer. I wish you the best of luck in all future work!

Thanks mate, you've made a good day that bit better.

Nice rhyme

It is fairly interesting when you play a character who takes up most of the screen. The best thing about this was probably how simple it was. I just loved smashing those morons and eating them over and over. It's hard to tell which gives you more points. I suppose it doesn't really matter and I do not even know how I even lost or gave up. The weirdest thing was that I got a 5 point medal (it's apparently not the same as the secret medal) and then I got a 0 point medal.

This is the first game I have ever played that had both 0 and 5+ medals. The graphics are fairly good. I especially like how the monster turns into this floating thing at the end when it shows you what options you have left. I guess a score of 7 was good enough to get at least one medal. It just got repetitive with how it was the same thing over and over.

thinking-man responds:

Yeah, that medal was made first, then it was approved, but none of the others were... It will be fixed soon.

Too many words!

It was nice of you to be able to move past the words without reading them. The thing I did not like about this was how there were just too many words! It seems like this game was a lot more cutscene than it was actually gameplay! Now, it does have its good points, like how its easy to get the medals. In fact, I think that you get a medal for any ending you get. In terms of how you get them, just play the game until you win or lose.

The next time you play, just do not do what you did last time to get the ending. What is good are the graphics. The detail in this is wonderfully done and I really liked the shading that was done in everything. There could have been some more sound as it didn't seem to create much of an atmosphere. Well, I guess I can't expect the best game to be made in 72 hours.

tenentenen responds:

Too many words? This is an interactive visual choose your own adventure novel. It is PURELY words. But I agree with you that it has very nice art. PooPoothegorilla did a very good job, and spent a long time on it.

FANTASTIC!

I am so thankful to be introduced to you on this website as this is one of the best games I have ever played here! Every single second there is something cool going on. I love how the blocks make those cute little sounds when they hit. I even managed to get nineteen medals the first time I played it! Speaking of medals, there appeared to be something wrong with them as I was missing them last night and this morning. By getting them here, they are all restored!

My only suggestion would be to throw in some powerups coming from the blocks. It was amazing how each color and every tint of color had a unique style to it. You knows, I might even get every single medal as this game is addictive. The only reason I even stopped was because I died. Thank you for creating such a magnificent masterpiece!

ThinXIII responds:

Wow thank you so much for the awesome review and I'm glad you found the game addictive. I really hope to do better with other games that I'll release. :)

Hey, not bad!

The coolest thing about this was the awesome music. I swear that will never get old no matter what happens in the world ever! It was very nice to have medals that you could earn simply by pressing a simple button that were easy to understand. Granted, they were not worth anything but it's kind of fun to see them pop up on the screen. I am surprised "Darth Sidious" and "Death Star" had different deaths. The "Death Star" was probably my favorite or the one with Sephiroth as it had the best graphics.

What I did not like was that the graphics in this were not that good. It is always a good idea to have a background of some sort. At least it was fairly unpredictable and there was a unique style for every death. It's extremely easy, so don't play this if you are expecting a complicated game. The medals even reappear if you push the buttons again!

Thanks

What a nice guide

Now, I myself have been around here a long time so I am familiar with most of this stuff. Of course, this was intended to be for people who had just come onto the website. It is always good to be helping people like that. I even think this is the first time I knew what that yellow "X" at the side of the review meant! I don't think I've even noticed it before! Of course, even though I am a prolific reviewer, I actually don't rate other reviews often.

Yeah, it seems kind of inconsiderate now that I mention it. The music used in this was pretty nice as well. When I saw the first screen, it reminded me of my favorite submission of all time, "The Scale Of The Universe". While you are not one of my favorite people here, you have still made something nice. Even I managed to learn something from it.

Little-Rena responds:

Thanks.

So nice

I'm generally not a fan of these kinds of games, but this is an exception. It is possibly because her video has been seen so many times and yet everyone hates it! It's almost sad to realize people are like that. I thought the medals were only colors to make fun of how bland and uncreative Rebecca is. Here are the ways to get the medals I got.

BURN BABY BURN! - Go to the bathroom (by pressing Bathroom) and then type Shower. I have no idea why a shower would bring out fire, but it works to kill her.

OH POOP - Go the bathroom and type Poop.

OH POOP II - Go to the bathroom and press Toilet.

thinking-man responds:

Yes, let's go with that...

A bit interesting

This was a pretty interesting game and it seemed to just be weak on the notion of being that enjoyable. I could not understand why I was not able to pick up everything in one run. Of course, the rules are the rules and this was at least something that was original. The music was fairly good and seemed to fit the technological setting. I also noticed that the map showed the arcade logo even though it was not on the actual screen. At least it makes things look organized.

The best way to avoid the turrets at first is to approach the stuff when they are offscreen. From my playing experience, they do not attack when they are not on screen. It's not that creative, but it is also pretty hard to find anything particularly bad about it. This game was fairly good overall. The gameplay does need improvement.

mjkgames responds:

Thanks for the detailed review. To your question about why you were not able to pick up all resources in one go - the vehicle has limited space which can be upgraded to allow larger cargo (but that obviously costs money, so you need to think what is efficient and what is not).

I am one of the most prolific reviewers on this website and even on the Internet! I am proud to be such a huge fan of this website!
