That game was just okay. I admit that I didn't really like how it went. I mean, it was too fast. Even at slow, the train was hard to keep up with. It did indeed seem like a runaway. I thought you were supposed to go off the screen.

I guess that doesn't make sense. I wish you could just choose as to when the train took off. That's a lot of medals. I do like how it was sort of an original concept. It's just not really for me.

HamsterAtDawn responds:

I think that could be a good idea to allow the train to leave after you've had time to assess the situation, thanks for the suggestion. I know some people have enjoyed the speed of the game but others have found it too fast. Although it's never going to be for everyone, I would like to make it as accessible as possible and I appreciate the constructive feedback.

Update: I have made a minor tweak to the game. You now have unlimited time before the train arrives when starting a new game. The train will not leave until you start switching the tiles. It will still leave automatically when completing multiple levels in succession but this will reset after you get a game over. I think that this should maintain the challenge for the people who want it but hopefully make it more accessible to other players who have found the game too difficult.

Wow, that was great! My expectations weren't really held that high! This was a great pleasant surprise! It was great to see an actual Pico related submission too! You know how to create a fun game. I'm generally not into point and click ones.

This is my favorite submission for this year's Pico Day. You should be able to find the medals on your own. There's some great animation too. I just wish the screen wasn't so big. Happy Pico Day 2023 for reals!

TrickWithATwist responds:

This really means a lot to me because I tried really hard to improve on my game dev skills after the last review you left on one of my games so I'm super happy you liked this! :)))

That is honestly a name that I haven't heard in a long time. Happy Pico Day 2023! I thought we were really going to have a bust this year. Instead, we got a lot of stuff! I have no idea which characters to avoid are. It's fun for stuff to blow up. "Arfenhouse" was a great cartoon series.

This should be in the collection. I think the series ran its course. I really have no idea what's going on at all here. That's how it probably should be. Piakachu is my favorite.

NevaZ0r responds:

Ya need to avoid Don Flamenco, Amy, Billy and the wrecking ball.
Im really glad people still remember Arfenhouse lol

Uh, Happy Pico Day? I couldn't get into this much. It was basically just the same thing over and over. I had to log in to get achievements. I hope I don't have to do that for every game from now on. This was just kind of boring.

You needed to have more going on. The artwork was pretty bland. Still, this had something going for it. Happy Cinco De Mayo? There's been a lot of smaller holidays recently.

FluffiOwl responds:

I've never been wished two different happy holidays in a single post before. Bless. #tooblessedtobestressed 🙏

Yeah, this wasn't for me. I've played a lot of RPGs that were much more fun. This was just seemed too repetitive. I wanted an actual playing field. The designs weren't very creative. I was at least motivated to go on.

I had no idea we'd get so many of these submissions for Flash Forward 2023! It's like Flash never left. You need a more interesting environment. I thought it would be like a slasher movie. It was at least an okay setup.

Kwing responds:

I don't really understand what you're saying. It's visually repetitive? The gameplay is repetitive? The visual designs are uncreative? The game design is uncreative? What does an "actual playing field" mean?

I'm not into Dress Up Games, but this was actually quite good. The best part was probably how easy it was to get the "secret" medals. No, I don't have them all. You should be able to figure it out on your own. This was very tongue in cheek. Boy, was that unsexy.

Honestly, this might have been the best of these Flash Forward submissions. I honestly haven't been a fan of these at all. I also love the simplistic title. I thought those arrows were all part of the same thing. They're hard to grasp.

Cyberdevil responds:

Haha, I guess you could say that. :D Not the sexiest foundation for a dress-up game for sure...

Really appreciate it Ericho! Glad you enjoyed this even if you're not in the 'genre' overall. Good feedback in regard to the arrows, didn't want them to take too much space so I kept 'em small, but could've probably made them a bit more intuitive. Different visuals, overlays, different placement maybe...

It's weird to say that I enjoyed playing this. I mean, it's pretty cheap all things considered! I recognize "Carmalldansen" anytime of the week. I really did get quite far with this. I thought it would be nothing but joke questions. Wait, maybe that would have been funnier?

It's so weird I found this to be far better than the highest rated submission here. I thought I was a critic! Happy Flash Foward 2023! Oh, and also 420. I know more about space than I thought.

fe3l1ngsk1lled responds:

420 indeed! :3

I admit to not being the biggest flash of this jam. I mean, Flash Forward. This was still pretty enjoyable. I liked the brick one the most. I do remember games like this. Congratulations on being the thumbnail!

I guess I'm seeing more stick figures. That's definitely something old! Stick Slayer won after all. I mean, we are killing the sticks we still have. The re-do button looked like a smile!

Thanks for your review!

This was a good game, but it did seem to have a major flaw. I didn't know how to select levels I already beat! I accidentally went back on the page. Whatever, this was still a good game. It was a little hard to understand at first. I'm glad I got used to it.

It got quite enjoyable after a while. It is a pretty unique idea. I'm glad both of them didn't have to go through the door. It wasn't too hard, either. That was a lot of music!

Bleak-Creep responds:

A level selector is honestly something that I hadn't ever even thought of myself, but seems like something so obvious. I'm sure we'll add that later on at some point. There are a couple other little QOL things we wanna get to at some point or another.

Intrapath responds:

Hey, thanks for playing! I agree, a level selector would be a good idea. And Taxmann hit it out of the park with the music, there's a Spotify link in the description if you want to add the tracks to your collection!

This was an enjoyable little game. I'm glad I learned how to get past the menu. You just had to solve the mini-game on the top. I liked how simplistic it was. I guess it could have been more detailed? It really didn't need to be.

It just wasn't as enjoyable as I thought it might be. I really liked how you didn't automatically lose when you trapped a guy. It was fairly easy. It did manage to escalate quite well. It did indeed utilize pixels well.

blit-blat responds:

Yeah, trapping pixels is actually a necessary tactic for precise and bad pixel modes. Would be a bit harsh if you lost on the other modes for doing so!

And sorry to hear that it wasn’t enjoyable as you thought it might be! Feel free to send me any suggestions as to what would have improved it for you!
